Finished another cast. Charcoal on toned paper. It's tough without the natural highlights you get from white paper. Some creative value shifting did the trick.

CKLamb: Thanks, man. Somewhere between 60 and 80 hours. I'm still pretty slow, but my production time is improving with mileage.

Finished another cast. This one was only 16 hours: 8 hours to put it on paper and 8 hours to clean it up.

Really awesome job man, your effort really shows in your work. All of the casts look amazing and the CGMW stuff is really cool. Are you still at CAO? Guessing you'll be doing oils soon, can't wait to see it!

Yochanan: Yeah, I'm still studying with Jonathan. Getting through charcoal casts was tough, but definitely worth it. I think I'll be stuck on color charts for a while before Jonathan gets me started on actual painting, but I have all the painting supplies and ready to go

I saw your perspective studies. You are getting better and better: it's very awesome!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. I've been super busy trying to manage my art practice with the pesky details of life. Something happened to my time: I suspect someone's stealing it when I'm not looking. Anyway, here's an update. A bunch of sketches done with pigment liner and markers. The Paris sketch is done with pencils. Enjoy

Finished my Fechin master copy in charcoal. I should've used a better printer for Fechin. My old printer made everything too dark. Oh well, something to pay attention to next time I used a combination of soft and medium charcoal for this one. Comments are welcome.

Nobody liked my master copy, lol. It has problems, but it wasn't that bad. So there, responded to my own thread. Take that unresponsive fellow artists Just completed my first 1p perspective assignment at CGMA. Took me a few hours to get used to my tablet again. It's all good. Here's the pic:

OakLeaf: Thank you! It was rather difficult at the time. As with all mastercopies, it gave me a good boost of skill.
CKLamb: Thanks for reminding me about my thread, CKLamb! I kept putting off the update until I forgot what I wanted to do in the first place.

Without further ado, some of my sketches and a value study:

Hey man, your CGMA stuff has come such a long way. It's very inspiring to see how well you're doing now. Hope I can get there one day. How about an update on your CAO work? Would love to see how your paintings are coming along!
