    Hey sOltan,

Really good. I like the colors your are using and the implied atsmosphere with each piece. They both carry very different feelings from one another.

On the second woman, her lips are not quite right. Check out corbis.com for some profiles and look at the lips and nose. (sign up for an account - they're free, and do an image search) Specifically, the upper lip slants up and out, almost exactly oppisite of what you have there. The lower lip looks like she's trying to grimace some - bad tunes?

Both are really good starts. And glad to see you starting a sketchbook!

    Cheers,
    ~Oreg.

Oregano - good catch about the upper lip, will fix. this is a new style i am discovering in me, will work on it more - ideally from refs yes.

intends to have this caliph hover his palace garden -- maybe seduce a harem or two?

Hey sOltan, glad to see you're starting a sketchbook. I really like the colors you used in the second piece. Lips are easily fixed, just do some lip/facial studies like oreg suggested. I really like the style in the last piece. Keep posting man.

Whoa! Sultan what I see is what I like! Great style. You should definetely build upon what you have. Damn i'm so nooby at digital painting, perhaps you can give me some tips sometime. Anyway I like how you have a great grasp on your form and Rythem (I think thats what its called ) anyway keep it up. I like how your updating often, and you should let it become a daily thing. Keep posting, you've got the talent. I'd like to see the finished piece on sunset girl

started on the figure form studies from life. i make it a practice to take snapshots of my study, when i look at them at the end helps me see if i was focusing on the first things first.

    dsg 441: alien hunter

(my alien rider is not sO mean  snif snif)

digitally colored (may be the bloody poor prey would bring out the viciousness of my alien hunter? hehehehe - i actually not satisfied with how i handled the bright areas to express the complex beautiful hard lights made by so many trees and leaves in forests .. made a mess, still trying to practise the technique, will try something else later)

obid - thanks man. for the sunset girl, i'll try hey for the digital art... i use macromedia flash if i want vector graphics, usually clean and i can zoom in and detail. i recently started using paint shop pro 7, it's very cool! my brother got me corel painter 8, but unfortunately i have little memory left so it crushed and had to uninstall it.

for tips - i'll try my best to answer any question you ask me about the stuff i do. but for basic idea: i try to use minimum colors, and i try to always work from a palette so i don't introduce new strange colors. i pick a color and utilize different hues, alphas (opaciti) of this color, then the next ect. i like to pay attention to shadows, and bright areas. working digital also boosts my confidence. i let my pen flow on the tablet, if i don't like it i press redo but pencil on paper should never die, i use often, that's the foundation.

anyways man, there are many talented people in this forum i'm learning from. :chug:

Retinal Haze - indeed water with color. didn't have watercolor paint per se available, but did have some old hard pastels laying around - i bashed them into powder with a rock :bash: and used to color
