    brainless sketches

Let's try this again, hopefully I'll stick with the sketchbook longer than last time. There's this bar I go to every Friday night, we have people volunteer to be the model, local artists gather and draw for 3 hours. At end of the night, we give the model our drawings as appreciation for sitting for us for free. This is a great way to practice face drawings, we get to practice with faces from different ages, different races, and different genders.
Here are some recent portrait drawings. Done with markers, varying between 1-2 hours each.

A portrait done at the bar last Friday, done with charcoal. (cheap sketchbook paper really suck! can't erase clean after a couple of rubbing)
And a feet study done a couple of weeks ago, in marker. On a side note, never ever use marker on cheap sketchbook paper, the paper suck the markers dry like vampires. My markers are completely out after these drawings (two pages on a 8x10 sketchbook).

Last update of the night, some concept sketches for a comic.
Before going into it, I kept thinking: as long as I'm not making obvious blunders (such as having a Buddhist using a cross), I just need some basic research for things around the time period. Well, three days later, I realized there's no such thing as "quick simple research", even though I'm only looking for the basic outfit, and basic architecture, haven't even gotten into the freaking horses, carriages, and furniture yet.
Oh well, it's a comic, not a history class term paper. Better start drawing the actual comic before I lose interest.

Beautiful. I am still to learning how to use charcoal carefully. My strokes were not really that defined.
