hehehe. don't knock the leaf brush! all photoshop users will use it at least once in their life :p
now if it were a leaf brush with a lens flare on it, it'd be a different story...
the last one is cool, its too bad you didn't get around to finishing it but it looks good already![]()
The tutorial is superb. Really nice job done on showing the progress through your work.
Great stuff!

You need to do more anatomy...and check your values....wait...did I just say that?

Oh, man. Chris, dude, you should really finish that one. I can feel it.
:chug: Yah! Another one! I love your painting style, dude. I love it! You make it look very easy.![]()
very stylish and nice, great vibrant colours and cool looking girl :chug:
Coolness. I love your style! You exaggerate things and they still look spot on. I have a question though, do you add noise to different parts of the pic, or are those just custom brushes creating the noise effect?
I'm curious too. What are you doing to achieve that grainy look? Been trying to figure out a way of doing it with different layer settings and opacities but no luck so far. Got me stumped chris. Nice work by the way.
Thanks everyone.
Groover McNab & Eric UNSL - Yeah for that chick and other paintings with this more simplified color look, I used the noise filter to give me some grain, I played around with the filters option a little, and played around with it more on the painting after I applied it to make it look a little less computered. On other paintings, some times I don't use the noise and instead, modified brushes that give me different types of grain for a different surface texture/tool texture look. Sometimes don't us em at all, and try to create texture through paint opacities.
Yeah it took me a while to figure out why photoshop with default tools and a blank document looked so slick and waxy with no grain like you have in reality. Photoshop was pissing me off with it's slick, flat, no 'surface grain or texture' look I was getting when I first used it. Felt like I was painting with crisco oil.
Damn Chris, you have a flowing style man, it really moves. pLEASE CONTINUE POSTING!

Awesome work.![]()
Thanks guys.
I got inspired to see where my quick gesture out-of-my-head, figure drawing skills are now. The next few posts may be just figure drawing. Here's this one. This is all done in photoshop. I think I've finally created a technique that allows me to just do things entirely in photoshop. I guess I'll see how far I get with that.

A little sloppy in areas. I'm trying to kill the laziness, so I don't slip in areas.

Ah, I got three in a row done, but the inspiration ends here. This is the quickest one I did outta my head, took about 10 or 20 minutes. I love using graphic shapes.

Dang.....!!! Your stuff is so awesome.
You've got something really slick picking up speed here.

Xia >> Haha! Thanks man. I was in a lucky groove with that one.
Groover McNab >> Yeah, thats an anteater, gettin ready to sip his ant tea. I'm glad you like.
Here's a figure drawing sketch. I know I could have when further with this. It took an hour all together. I may go in and really detail the hell out of the face or arm and hand, torso area, at some point.

Here's the messy, incomplete line drawing.
