Hey guys!
decided to finally start a sketchbook myself instead of just browsing this Forum everyday admiring everybody for their skills. So I hope you can help me a bit improving my own skills. I've got a lot to learn.
C&C very welcome

Awesome 3D stuff! Your 2D is also really good! Keep it up!
awesome start man! your stuff will be ass kicking if you keep up like this![]()
Thank you guys!
Here's a first sketch for the grim reaper drawing jam over at CGHUB, don't think I'll find time to finish it until friday, but it's a fun topic.

you can't go wrong with chicks and big guns. But I'm not a big fan of the gradient background or the light glow you have around the edges. There's also a lot of intense highlight on her right leg for no apparent reason as there isn't as much on the other leg.
I've also noticed you are using a lot of black for shadows and white for highlights giving you an extremely contrasty image. try adding some of the ambient background colour into your shadows to give it some form.
cheers.
an old Sculpt I decided to put more work in

the texture on that third image is insane...i shuddered...in a good way
same thing as Fireblad said above, try incorporating more colors into your lights/shadows to give it more pop
(Y)!
Thanks for the advise Fireblade an Duplicitious, I'll work on the issues with the shadows when I find time to revisit som of the WIPs. Right know I'm much more into sculpting again as you can see
Made some rendering tests and a fast Composition, although the model isn't finished yet... just for fun. Hope you like it

Nice sketches, you have a knack for colour which is good. If anything I'd say work on your perspective a bit in your drawings. The digital work could help a lot in your understanding I reckon.
Your 3D work looks amazing, what software do you use and if you don't mind what sort of hardware do you use to render it all? I've touched on a few 3D programs but never delved very far, hence my lack of comment. Looks great from here though.
Hey Porg!
Thanks for the kind words.
So perspective and shadows it is. the tasks for the next few weeks. Will try to find time to work on those issues.
Mostly I use zbrush for sculpting and somtimes Cinema4d for rendering.
the demon is rendered in Zbrush with a lot of different render passes and then composed in Photoshop with a backplate found on the internet.
I use a Quadcore 2,6GHz, with 8GB DDR2 Ram and a GeForce 260GTX on a
64Bit System with Windows 7. It's not the best for 3D work but it's enough to get things done.
And try out Zbrush, You will love it! Hell lot of Fun, very intuitive and... ADDICTIVE.
Cheers
need to draw some new stuff![]()
here's a version of the demons with some light effects on it... cheating, I know

Thanks for that list Tsychayssen. Nice system specs, I've always assumed that rendering is done with Quadro cards and also thought the others were primarily used for gaming. I've touched upon Sculptiris before and it was very easy to use, so I assume Zbrush is very much the same then.
Great to have all those lighting effects and so on at your disposal, looking good!
All the best with your perspective studies too.
Dude! Keep up with the zbrush skills. Love how you include your models in your illustrations.
Thanx Mr.Scribbles. Love your work, and really apreciate such kind words from such a great artist
Here's an old sketch I am putting some more work on right now, let me know what you think

cool stuff, really like the 3d work!
Way to start a SB! Love your creatures. Are you using ZBrush?
On #20, I think it'd look cool with a more reflective belly. Kind of making it look more "sticky"
Keep 'em coming!
Thanx Kevin, seen you on CGHUB before, nice progress on your sketchbook
Here's a small update on the fat cyborg guy

on that last one, ive a question, why does he have the glass screen in front of his glass eye?
i really like this. it should be resized, but the way youve cropped it tight makes the viewer feel much more in the scene!

@ Januz: Thanks man. Yeah I think you're right, right now the Belly and the tail looks a bit like a Halloween costume with two guys in it instead of disgusting and creepy, but there is still a long way to go with this model, far away from being finished, hope I'll find time soon
@ Velocity Kendall: to be honest with you I don't have a clue why he's having a glass piece in front of his glass eyeI just start with something and then it flows (or not). I don't think much about the sense or functionality of the concepts :/ I know a good concept should be more thought through, but most of the time I end up with something completely different then I originaly planed to do. but I guess I'll keep the glass piece. maybe I try adding some holographic intel on it so it makes a bit more sense
glad you like the nomad concept
here's a little update
