Animated Chronicles of Riddick music video.

Check this out. It's a music video from some technogroup done for the upcoming Chronicles of Riddick movie. I'm not entirely sure but it looks as if it was animated by Peter Chung. I thought it was pretty good. Who know's, this new movie might even be pretty good as well.

    thanks exo!

that was pretty cool--i loved the scene with that blob like thing and the music was hot too.
i wonder if the animation is from an actual flick...maybe a prequal or somn, like the animatrix

jeez with this, and the video game (which is getting really good reviews), and the new flick, ....whod have thought this character would come back in full force? still waiting for the riddick happy meals tho.

    ty

    edit) ahhhh.coming out on dvd...sweet.

Ty: I've read about the game too. I've seen some impressive screenshots as well at popcultureshock.com.

Pitchblack was a decent creature flick but my expectations for how far the Riddick character and that particular future setting could be taken were not very optimistic. Now I'm beginning to think that I'm about to be proven wrong. The art design seems very different from PB as well. PB had a very industrial look while what I've seen of COR looks very exotic and alien; kind of what I've always thought Dune should look like.

...One hope I have though is that I'll see more creatures designed by Patrick Tatopoulos. The sickle-headed aliens kicked ass.

edit: I just checked out the COR website and on it they have this advertised. It's an animated film by Peter Chung called Dark fury.

wow, that looks suprisingly good. that scene with the fleshy sphere thing was cool when riddick came flying out of it in zero g.

i bet the vin diesel cartoon is a better actor.

Very cool clip, I dug the music quite a bit too. I've been on the fence about seeing COR but it is starting to look too damn cool to pass up.

    Anyone seen the Animatrix ?

The style is almost the same as the last episode (that wierd one about convincing robots to join our side). I wonder if it's done by the same guy.

That's because it's the same guy. His name is Peter Chung and I personally think he's one of the most tallented and stylish animators out there. His body of work is incredable. He's the creator of Aeon Flux and a lesser know but arguably better series called 'Alexander' which is a sci-fi fantasy interpretation of the life of Alexander the great.

any watchers of adult swim on cartoon network would recognize the show Alexander under the name "Reign."

i never really got into it, but the few episodes ive seen are pretty nifty

the COR music video was crazy cool. Esp. the knife/sword fight
