    constructive criticism please

I've been trying to get some suggestions on where to go with this piece, and on my work, but I've had no luck so far. Here is another attempt... I'd really appreciate anything you have to say. : =

You already have a thread of this image http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=239848
Also please lay off the huge font, we can read the normal just fine.

Also, what is this image of yours? Is this a thumbnail or preliminary sketch? Will you be re-doing this to actual paper/canvas/etc and not just in your sketchbook? Or is this finished? Are the random flower and two texts parts of the image?

It is a preliminary sketch, but I wanted to practice atmospheric perspective. :o

We seem to get more and more grainy, poorly focused phone cam pictures here...

Thanks for making me aware of that. Do you have any suggestions on how to make your work cleaner?

Use a scanner and do a pass of Levels tool in Photoshop to clean out the paper noise and make the black look black.

If the piece is too big, you can photograph it, but the setup to make a good photo is a bit involved. You'll need at least a tripod, and if the camera has a remote control, that too.

Oh alright : D I'm going to try this and see... I guess it must be important to take good photos of your work even for preliminary work. Thank you so much. : ) I don't really have very expensive camera, so I guess I could try using my scanner for my sketchbook images... Is adjusting the levels all you do to make it so clean or do you use other tools in PS? I apologize for bombarding you with questions. : o

I'm definitely getting an modern collage type artwork out of this. Definitely dark strong colors, an evening mood, and I would even keep the discoloring at the edges.

Oh alright, I was thinking of using colors like blues and dark purples. I'm still unsure about the background though... My friend said I should add more of a foreground by placing something in front of the figure. I'm not sure, if the silhouettes of the trees in the background are a good idea.
