want to attend tad, but how?

    Hello!
My name is Eric and I love the student art work and I want that kind of skill!
I'm going to be honest here, I'm poor so I can't afford it and I don't have a formal artistic background, but I want to study classical 2D animation ( hand drawn) and I know that without the traditional art skills I won't be able to get the skills that I feel are necessary for me to be successful.

Basically, I want to know how I can really get a scholarship to pay for this. I know its going to take hard work and I'm willing to work. What should I put in a portfolio?

Also my computer doesn't have a webcam or Skype at the moment so would it be possible for me to speak to someone about the school?

What comes with the tuition? Do I have to get all the supplies myself?

    Please help me!
    Thanks!

    -Eric

If I were in your shoes I would start by taking one class, and that is Marshall Vandruff's anatomy class. I would also look at taking his Composition 1 class as it will be needed for any of your background painting work.

You can take single classes, so you are aware. As far as scholarships, they are possible...you just need to bust hump and get ten images together that show you work hard and are getting your skills down.

The key is to get started drawing and painting and studying at least 40 hours a week, minimum. There is nothing between your pencil and paper but air...which are the words that a friend said to me years ago when I said I wanted to be an animator and he asked what was stopping me.

    Go go go!
