One post, and already so much niceness

First image is my favorite. But OK, I slowly admit to being an enviro-junkie... Great work!

Trixtar - Thanks! I've gotta admit I'm more of a figure-junkie myself, but doing my best to diversify.

    Lux_Aeterna - Thank you!

Another environment sketch that I did. Corel Painter 11, ~1hr and 15min.

Looking really good so far! I really like your environments - it's something I'm working on at the moment so it's useful to see what everyone else's sketches look like . The life drawings in your first post look great, too!
Please drop by my sketchbook and help me improve!

Strong startup Really nice life drawings ... how much time did you spend on each?

    Topcross thanks!

Hair Fish Thank you! The brush I used for that is just the default square hard pastel brush in painter 11, works really well.

lord regenschirm - thanks! the life drawings I posted are all in the 10 min -20 min range, although one of em was a little shorter, around 7min I think but can't remember. Had some goofy times that day.

The first two images are for chow#282, some wip stuffs, and the third image is for eow#185 but not too happy with it. Last one is just a random sketch of a Valkyrie or a female warrior of some kind, may do something with it not sure yet.

    Been a few days unfortunately.

First image is my final entry for last weeks chow#282 dragon rider. If you haven't already, you should check it out, everyone produced a bunch of great images.

The next image is a polished up version of an environment sketch I had post four posts ago, and the last two are quick environment sketches from imagination.

i really like how in the dragon piece the demigod on the dragon is attacking a normal looking bald man, not some bizarre ork thing or night in OTT armour

also maybe try some darker shadows around where its feet are, overall the shadows on the ground seem too light relative to the very dark ones on its body (which could be lightened some too)
also the people in the forground on the floor could use more detail
apart from that it looks dope.

edit heres a supre crude dodgenburn of what i mean.. sort of

cool stuff! With your latest dragon piece I feel as if the survivor dude is a bit behind the dragon, if you moved him a bit to the right he'd be more in line with the dragons sight. I love the touches of purple too. More please

Gannicus - Thanks! Glad you like it.

Velocity Kendall - Thank you for the feed back! Very helpful.

rich4rt - Thanks for the feed back, much appreciated.

So I think I'm gonna call the dragon done. Time to move on to other pieces.

And these are two environment studies inspired by some photos I took.

    great stuff so far,

Regarding your dragon piece, i think you lost some of the nice mood you had in your early wips, where you had the main lighting from the rear. This would have looked pretty cool as the shadow would have been cast on the victim on the ground making the scene more ominous.

Heya, really nice sketchbook you have here!! That dragon piece is great, i just think the dragons wings seem to be a little to thin/tiny for his massive body, but thats just minor, awesome piece overall

I really like your lifedrawings from your first post and your enviros, especially the last two studies.

Cheezah - Thank you! Thank you very much!

fireblade - Ya, I kinda like the feel of the sketches better =/. I may revisit it but for now I just gonna move on. Thanks for stopping by!

Mhugo - Thanks!! Ya, I envisioned that dragon as being big and stout and strong, but not the greatest flyer =P.

Some sketches I've been working on; The first is a WIP for the current EOW, the second a Valkyrie, and the third just a quickie that I may take somewhere.

"...For the first time, as the ribbons of darkness congealed before her, the thought crossed her mind that this may have been a bad idea..."

The moral of this story, don't open hell-gates without parental supervision.

Calling this one finished. What do you think?

I was proofing this in Photoshop and all the colors go to grey when proofed under internet standard =/. sRGB and TN Panel LCDs are the bane of my existence I swear.

Small update. First image is a wip of a barbarian warrior kinda dude I started for fun. May try and get it into that fan art contest Blizzard is doing for D3, will see where it goes. Second image is a sketch I did for the resent chow - horror survivor, but never had time to go somewhere with it.
