    MichySoong Sketchbook

    Hi, I'm Michy!
I've always been more of a lurker than a contributor.. but I'm hoping to change that!

I'm 17 years old, in Mississauga, ON. I'm hoping to attend Sheridan's Animation or Illustration program this fall.

Any advice/feedback is greatly appreciated. I'm just here to learn and draw as much as I can as an aspiring artist.

    Thanks for visiting!

I like the flow in your drawings, it looks really neat. It's good seeing you starting out by drawing the volumes of the objects, I think that will help you improve in the future. That being said, I think you would benefit from being a bit more firm, try studying muscles, and bones and see how they fit. Then you can bring that knowledge in to your sketches and things will look quite awesome after some practice.

Definitely keep on drawing! You're young and got a good starting point, just remember to always study, even though it's 100x as fun just drawing from memory. OH, another thing studying from life is really important.

I tried doing a tonal study of a sphere on Paint Tool Sai.
I find it a lot more difficult compared to using pencil on paper..

I love that apple creature! So sweet I also like those figures at the beginning, they simply have something in then, very enjoyable to look at! I also agree with Lycoris, watch out on the proportions! Anyway, it seems you're on the right way Just keep it and never give up because.. "True failure comes from not trying!"(Bobby Chiu) ^^

Overall some pretty nice work, you can tell you actually put work towards improving. I do see some mistakes on the sphere however, would love to see some more work with shading.

wow nice, I wish I'd gone serious with 17!
    You have art classes? *_*
consider yourself lucky to get life drawing this early! Your pencil work looks really good, already so much dynamic and form in there, great start-off
    (Are you using Vilppu books?)

Haha! I'm putting effort in before entering Sheridan. Kind of nervous.
Yess~ I have art classes on Sundays. It's pretty nice. Usually sketching and painting.
    Thank you very much!
(I'm using George Bridgeman at the moment. Glenn Vilppu is also on my art/study book list.. Haha!)

    Hey guys!
I went life drawing a couple days ago! It's such a great change of pace compared to studying from books, haha.

I have a couple others that I'll upload soon!

    It's a clothed figure.
Sorry I haven't been updating my sketchbook. I've been neglecting it so much, haha. I haven't stopped drawing though!
