French student showreel

Hello everyone,

This is the first time I post on this forum.
I'm a french student in environment modeling, I just released my first showreel and I'm looking for some objective critics.

Please do not hesitate to say what you really think =)



Ten points to Gryffindor if you find the reference for the first scene !

PS : I hope I'm not in the wrong section, I'm not animator but I didn't see any video in the other sections.
Other PS : I'm french so i might make some mistake in english, sorry about that and don't hesitate to correct me.

It seems your style is fairly cartoony, but in the fully rendered passes the clouds in the BG really don't fit with the cartoony architecture. I'd try painting a cartoony cloud background as the sky so that the environment feels unified.
The assets and texturing looks pretty cool, as does the character run through.

I have to admit, the sky doesn't fit because I was too lazy to make one. This is the default sky in UDK. ^^'
You're absolutly right though, I won't repeat this mistake !

The scene with the character is taken from the trailer of the game we are working on.
