Man every time I visit these boards it scares the living daylight out of me,
but it might be healthy for me to actually just make a thread and post my art.
I mostly do pixelart, of which I haven't seen a lot posted around here. But art is art, right?
Anyway, I'm gonna post some stuff I've been working on in the last week or two here to get my sketchbook starting.
Attachment 1: Compilation of character sprites I've made:
Attachment 2:Background I've been working on the last weekunfinished!)
Attachment 3: And adding this for reference, a finished "town" background I've done in the past:
I've been trying to do a few things with this general style/art:
1. For the characters I'm trying to focus on recogniseable faces and them all being clearly different characters piece per piece whilst at the same time going for a simplistic style that makes it relatively "easy" for me to create new sprites/poses for them.
2. For the backgrounds I'm not 100% sure what direction I'm going in yet. I'm aiming largely for reusability, so seperate parts have to look nice but also "generic" enough to be usable several times.
I'm currently making my backgrounds pretty straight on in terms of perspective and stuff as it's by far the easiest way to make a template that can be re-used in any situation, but I'm trying to think of ways to make it all more organic without ruining the simplistic template functions.
Anyway, I'd really appreciate feedback, suggestions, comments and whatnot.
I figure most of you aren't pixel artists, but I think most of the things I'm trying to work on are non-pixelart issues anyway.

unfinished!)
