Okay, after significant rethinking, resculpting and re-everything, I'm finishing up the Waspgirl. I hope you all like the new direction I took with her, I'm much happier with her this way. I should be able to get her cast up and up for sale before Christmas.

Gorgeous work. It has gone completely away from wasp, to bondage-mech, which is fine, but you gotta change her name now.
She has lost all her "waspiness". I think mech wings are in order now.
HATE the things on her head. Maybe a form fitting leathery fighter pilot kind of thing on her head? Love to see some sort of jetpack wing hybrid contaption on her back.

I liked how it was developing in the first set of pictures as a waspgirl. it was mostly the pose.
but It requires a name change I agree. for this reason.
it lacks harmony.
there is no harmony between the title waspgirl which to a viewer would have insect like features, hints & give those impressions.
& it had those in the first one with the antenna head gear & wings I felt. she even looked "smaller" because she seemed almost fairy like.
presently the parts of her head gear - probes, head cap, goggles - looks like something nikola tesla would create, the belt & buckles for clothing doesn't imply an organic feel, & what feels like a 60's laser gun. on first impressions as far as concepts goes the features of your sculpt & subject title dont match.
It not that its a change for the worse, it seems more pinup now & somewhat like an inventor like feel.
so im curious what made you change it into what it is?
Hey guys, thanks for the comments. To reply:
Philofmars- I've been really looking at her and I agree that I've gone so far off the "Wasp" look that I'm changing the name to this one, and I'm going to do a much more organic Waspgirl. In my head, I've even sort of put together a backstory for the two of them, the Tesla-looking girl being a technology driven reaction to the Waspgirl.
Orcar- I actually had Tesla in mind when I was designing this new girl. I changed her into the new design cause I just wasn't liking the original. There were a lot of things that were bothering me about her to the point that as she was, I probably would never have gotten around to finishing her up. For the new, new Waspgirl, I'm putting a lot more time into her design before I begin sculpting. I'll post some in progress shots soon.

Awesome work, acornboy! I'm still a newbie of sorts and I don't yet have a full understanding of all the types of clay that are used in the professional industry so I was wondering what type did you use here? Is it Super Sculpey firm?
Thanks!

Agreed on previous comments about the title needs changing. I'm not too fond of the antenna things either, mostly because they look too heavy and doesn't seem to attach with the head properly. Perhaps making the antenna longer and thinner would look nice.
Stunning work on the rest of the model though. I'm very impressed! Also curious of what kind of clay that is.
Wow, beautiful!
Hey everyone, thanks for all the comments! I've decided to rename her, and go back and sculpt a truly organic "Waspgirl". Not sure the name of this one yet, though. She's sculpted in Castilene, the older stuff. I still haven't tried the newer stuff yet, so I don't know how that is. I painted up a head and antennae, and am leaning toward reducing or redesigning them, they do look a little odd. I'll keep you all posted.
