That photo study from yesterday has a nice mood.
While I can see you tried to construct, the proportions seem a bit off.
From what i can see, the nose is to short and small for her face, and the eyes
have a bit of a strange vibe also. Don't be afraid to go all messy and block in,
let the rendering for later on.

I like the one with the horse and the lady, I think it looks very nice
you should feel more confident about drawing from head and using reference to serve that purpose, because the other exercise the actual studies, is already going very, very well
    keep up the good work

I did this body study today. It's far from perfect in the proportions. Anyway I choose to be proud of myself doing anything at all. Considering I've been very stressed out lately. It's a huge progress for me personally making any drawing and studying at all.
I must say that this community means a lot to me. It helps me in so many levels getting the inspiration and to continue keeping the creativity and progress with my work. ConceptArt makes me focus and get better routines in my day.
This is what I have searched for so long time and therefore I want to thank you all for making this community so great! Thanks for the support! Love to you all!

Well done on this latest study. I think it really shows great progress and that you are def moving in the right direction. What strikes me the most is that you are paying attention to the underlying anatomy as you are rendering which is excellent. I like the way you have show how the abbs go in towards the belly button before coming out again to continue over the pubic region. These little subtitles will really add believability to anything you do and shows you are actually paying attention to what you are looking at. So def keep that up. I would say maybe think a bit more about value relationships and how dark one tone is compare to another. The value range is a bit limited at the mo. That might be because you used one grade of pencil for the whole study? Love the way you have identified the shapes that make up the feet and you have drawn them pretty well. Just not sure that raise foot could actually be twisted that much given the position of his knee and following the line of his outer calf but I might be wrong.

But fundamentally, it sounds like this had been a really positive experience for you this piece and thats great and like I said it def shows progress and learning. So just keep dong what you are doing because you are getting better.

That study is NICE and you have every reason to be proud! By far best anatomy drawing you've done, I'd say.

Also, ja made some good points on the values, I'd have a look at that. (In the latest drawing, his left foot pops very nicely because of the two tiny, deep shadows under it, would be nice to see more of those!)

Also ALSO thank you right back, Greenhouse! CA is indeed a great place for learning, and you're part of it

Hey greenhouse your rendering is looking better and better. I'd like to see you loosen up a bit though, maybe make some crazy gestures? Your figure studies look a bit stiff! Go crazy and see if you have a little fun with it. I wrote a blog about loosening up having fun with it awhile ago. Dunno if it would be useful or not but thought I might as well post it

ja, Thanks for your support! I think you’re right about that. I need to look more in to the value thing, good point!

Nouge, Thank you for the nice words and the input!

iven, Hey thanks for visiting! Yes it’s a photo study. Thanks for the link!

liquorbleu, Thanks for visiting and for your thoughtful input! I read what you wrote in the blog and, wow that was gooood!!! I think you’ve got a good point there. It’s something I usually to think about, but in the time between I often find myself stressed out about the pencil work anyway. Haha! And that’s when I need people like you, getting me to loosen up again. Thanks for that!

your doing good buddy keep working away. maybe watch your edges a bit sometimes they can be very hard like on that head study first post of this latest batch. Don't forget to hit up the anatomy studies too, this will help you think about whats happening under the skin when digi painting figure stuff ect. Always be analysing what your are looking at even if its a photograph, try and see what has been lost in the photo ect. You have very good control with the pencil much better then me. I like the way you control your tone.

It's been too long since I stopped by here. You're making great progress. Your construction and facial proportions have gotten so much better. The anatomy studies are paying off
Keep an eye on values when you're doing the pencil drawings. I feel like the darks could be a little darker here and there but otherwise just keep going.

    You're doing great

Thank you very much guys, you’re the best! Your words mean a lot right now!

The New Year couldn’t start any worse. My sister died. It has been the two toughest weeks of my life. It’s much to handle at the same time. First the shock, then the sorrow and the grief. It’s both physical and mentally draining. Therefore I’m starting to force myself to get it together and do the ordinary daily routines. Though it’s hard I’m trying to draw again, even if it’s just some lines a day. It’s my intention anyway.

This sketch was made just before Christmas. It’s from a photo of my nephew, Linnéa.
