Nice updates! The body sketches looks good. That armor is sweet. I like that you haven't over done it.
Ah, you just gave me inspiration to try myself, it looks quite funny to draw. But mine will not be as good as yours, for certain Keep on struggling, I'll be back!

Nice try on your first digital portrait from Game of Thrones! It’s not easy to get the proportions, colors and light in order. But I think you’re off to a good start. When I have studied many of the others work I noticed that it’s a good idea to start the portraits blocking in the essential areas. Getting the proportions and the movement right in the first place helps tremendously. After that you can start with the details. This will help and saves a lot of time getting the image done. I can see you’re already using this technique better than me. I’m often starting with the details too early and then have to delete or paint over.
Hey, Gandalf! You should do more portrait studies, I think in a while they are going to be fabulous!
Those Brigman heads are nice and so are the watercolor nude.

your lines are getting really nice. single strokes and well judged. i guess you need a bit more focus on proportions.

Jablar -> Thank you ! It's highly motivating

Kasblue -> You're right ! I'll pay more attention to proportions and construction, even in my imagination sketches...

    A few new stuff,

From imagination, some skecthes for my illustration, I was sad to see that the pirate captain has too much "defaults" of proportions/construction... :s Have to be more aware of those...

Good to see you’re working hard! Nice Bridgman studies and the T-Rex is very nice. The watercolor sketches are also looking good. Thanks for the inspiration, I might try it out myself. I think watercolor is very hard to work with, but it’s fun. I like the diversity of your sketches. I think it’s good that you’ve put lots of effort to the body sketching, because the hard work shows. Those lines look really fine! Keep on trucking! You’re doing great!

wow. i like the updates. your studies are going well. love the building. its a very good study. one little tip, if you work on the shadowy parts of a building you'll get an awesome result. you dont have to go with the parts too much in light.

Aaah, Sean Connery the man! I like this image and I think you’ve captured the features quite good. It reminds me of this weekend when I’ll go and see Bond, Skyfall!!! Yeeey!!^^
The image beneath is very nice. I like how you’ve played with the white pen and the shadows. She’s also balanced and the proportions look accurate. I’m impressed by the diversity of your studies Hampton, Bridgman, architectural, body gestures and cloth! Great working spirit! Thanks for the inspiration!

Kasblue -> Thank you friend !

Here is some stuff, a lot of sketches, I decided to change the "warm up" routine and to try different media for "simple sketches" in the morning before choosing a theme to work for the day, which was these last days "hands" ^^, so, here is the crap :

    Some last warm up sketches

    Name: IMG_2939.JPG
Views: 386
Size: 310.4 KB

    Anatomy exercise !

    Name: IMG_2944.JPG
Views: 387
Size: 395.5 KB

1min sketches, I'll do more of those, instead of doing the "warm up routine" I think it could be a good exercise to begin with during the day

    Name: IMG_2948.JPG
Views: 381
Size: 301.0 KB

Hands from photos (last time they were from real life), I just realized that I had no idea of the "good proportions" of hands, so I decided to take Loomis to help me ! Then I'll do hands (lot of hands) from life !

    Name: IMG_2961.JPG
Views: 382
Size: 439.8 KB

    Name: IMG_2963.JPG
Views: 382
Size: 384.3 KB

Some sketches done during the morning

    Name: IMG_2962.JPG
Views: 375
Size: 370.4 KB

A fast sketch of my bro' (spideycreed on CA and DA), sketching too

    Name: IMG_2964.JPG
Views: 373
Size: 304.3 KB

A new try to make a new personal sketch, but I was going too fast and the result was fastly crappy, I decided to redo it, but taking my time to first make lines "correct" and then I'l put some shadows on, so there's the WIP of a very classical warrior... It made me realize also that I hadn't at all detailing knowledge for the art style I love : Realistic "overproportioned Fantasy" (Paul Bonner ), so I've started a bodybuilder photo references album to make studies, I'm currently working on arms ad will post them next time I think

Aah, awesome stuff going on here! I see you’re improving with those body gestures and those lines are great! Especially the one “done during the morning” in the last post. I wish mine was that good! Thanks for the inspiration!
The Bridgman and Loomis work from the two latest posts are awesome! You have captured the Loomis heads in a very good way! I’m looking forward to seeing more from the wip bodybuilder. Keep up the awesome work!

    Some stuff !

I've changed a bit my way of working, being more aware of the idea of "exercizing", I work more with the idea of "learning by coping from masters" (and not simply copy to record) and then apply to photos/imagination/mind for practicing, I think it'll help me for making evolve my lines and my understanding of things

    Here is a fail portrait...

Some 1min sketches but I was absolutely not happy with them...

... So I decided to work on gesture drawing this morning, by learning from hampton and then train myself with photos (the sketches in colors)

Thank you Kasblue ! I think I'm starting to reach the "recognizable" step of portrait but I'm still very very far away from "the cool portrait" step ^^, will work moar and moar and moar !!!

    Some stuff !

Some fast sketches of my bro and my father ^^

Some bridgman stuff, the blue ones were done from memory, hiding the others, it's crazy how it helps to record and understand better anatomy, I should have proceed this way a long time ago !!

Some Arm training, with anatomy from Loomis (the blue one was from memory again, hiding the model), it's also very interesting that it's far away easier to memorize the muscles while you learn their names, cause their names show you very well their role ! And also two studies from photos of bodybuilders, to see how a muscled arm looks like in real life..

Some hand training, the first one were from loomis and the others from life.. Still have to do thousands of them before they'll get good !

Not a lot of stuff here (I got some work in progress ;D ) but I've done my very first class of nude model and I have some questions..

So, first here's the bridgman training, with some work from memory

And here are some 5min figures from life BUT, I didn't really understood why the teacher told me that it was "forbidden" to construct, even a line for the vertebral column or a pelvis line or a shoulder line... Is this an exercize to observe the best you can without using construction (because the poses are short?) Is it a good way to practice life drawing? Anyway, it was o A3 format and for the time on an easiel so I've done very very crappy stuff :'(

And here the barbarian, I've learned a lot with him but the final resut is very crappy, I hope the next personnal project will be better ! (actually, I could have pushed him a lot more but I've spend too much time on him ...)
