Kicking the year off with a masterstudy of Kensett's "Lake George". Can't recommend doing this kind of studies enough!

Well done landscape!
The last environment piece is great. The scale is right, the sense of story and composition is good, and the mood is definitely there. All around great piece. Love to see more of it, or maybe even pushing the piece further.
awesome sense of light and colour here! would be good to see you work on your brushwork, otherwise great stuff, keep it up![]()

Hey, great sketchbook. I randomly saw your most recent piece on DA earlier this week and I think I may have started watching you (that sounds kind of weird).
Anyways, keep it up!
I can see a few problems here, but nothing a few studies won't fix. Keep killing it!
Small unrefined illustration for the design class. Man, ships are hard, something to work on!

awesome landscapes, thanks for sharing man
Sup man!
You're doing good with the enviros. Variation is needed though, do you have access to life drawing classes for example?
Would be nice to see how you tackle the human body.
The torch bearer piece is great, good atmosphere. My only gripe with is how the light of the torch cuts the form of the rock on the right.
How it only touches the edge as a really sharp, almost single line makes the rock look flat in an unwanted way and interferes with the depth you are trying to express.
Kinda hard to explain, if I get a chance I'll do a paintover later if that's okay. Still new to everything in this school so I have no idea where I can get tools!
Keep it up mate!

Posts #63 and #72. Mind. Blown. So epic and so pretty.
Really liking the palette in in 63# too. Warm toned rocks and cold snow, feels like really nice combo and give sthe piece lovely mood.
Keep it up and post more often. I want to see more!![]()
Really great compositions man
Thanks guys!
Rotor: Yeps, regular life-drawing on thursdays, but I am too lazy to scan em. I have also done a lot of finished drawing/sketches and plein air paintings. Might do a few character pieces in the near future, but it just doesn't really interest me that much. I would also definitely appreciate a paintover if you could done one!
Here's another WIP:

Another stage, missing character set-up still.

Your landscapes are beautiful. You tell so much story with lighting.

cool landscapes with solid values. I think you could push the contrast in your palette even further, especially toward darks. Some of your forms especially on foreground might benefit from this, making them less flat. But overall great work, and keep it up!
