I'll try to update this thing as much as possible! You'll see some of my anatomy studies, as well as drawings that I do while sitting in front of statues at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. I also like to get loose and draw random shit strictly from the imagination. Enjoy

Practicing still-lives from observation. I set up a pot and some of my oil paints together on my computer stand and my goal is to do these speed paints of various surface textures as fast as I can and not worry about detail. My theory is that if I can master that, then when it comes to a concept painting, I'll nail the majority of it in the first 2 hours.

an alien armor im working on. trying to come up with some elongated anatomy but still very humanoid. something that bugs me about these alien movies that come out is that the aliens are smart enough to come to our planet and abduct us with advanced technology and completely obliterate our defenses, yet they growl and look like demons. shouldn't they look more evolved than us rather than primitive?

i hate painting skies, but i figure i gotta bite the bullet and master them eventually. here's a 2 hour study of an intricate cloud formation i found.

here's a couple new ones: I have a concept drawing, more skull studies from observation using the tablet, studies from sculptures at the metropolitan that stood in front of, and a random imagination drawing of a horned man.

Ha, no reason to be jealous, keep practicing. Looking at half of these drawings makes me sick. It's a good sign when you don't like your older stuff.

i mean, wow i really enjoy your inks. they show a real sense of space and that's really something when it comes to inking.

You have some really nice mood going on in your recent work.

I reckon you could give that last guy some nice depth if you added some subsurface scattering to his ear and those bumps on the side of his head. I imagine him having fairly translucent looking skin so it might work well. Also some of the backlighting should be hitting the back of his jaw. At the moment it looks like his head gets a lot narrower towards the bottom.

Your pencil and imaginative skills are MAD. Too bad I don't live close to the Metropolitan Museum of Art because otherwise I would do sculpture studies a lot more often. You have my attention for sure.

Yeah I def could add more depth, I basically rendered it out as much as I could in 15 minutes before I went out for the day. I don't know if I wanted to devote more time to it. Sometimes I see little doodles I do on small pieces of paper and want to take a photo and just mess with it. Thanks for the observation tho.
