Praise the sun this SB is so inspiring! Love those Gorgeous twisted fairy tale characters in entry 75 and 73 and of course needless to say the most recent colour entries, I'd really like to see more of those twisted abstracts.

I really enjoy seeing the different stages in your work its always a delight to see something like that.

    Keep it up plz,
    Cheers,

Hey man the concept for the last one is badass and the execution is suberb, the only thing I could say, is try to push your values a bit more a lot of them are middle range, which totally could have been what you wanted, but yeah I dunno. In the black and what there was a lot of contrast but it got kinda washed out in the colour. I hope you don't mind but I did a quick edit to show you what I mean, I just copied the picture, set it to multiply and dodged a couple spots. But yeah you're stuff is badass man, this is just what I saw in the last picture, take it or leave it you're a lot better than me, haha.

    whoa holy shit...thanks everyone!

walnut: yeah it's like kangaroo tail. sort of like extended butt...ew.

TFsean: thanks! IMC was life changing experience for sure. I think I found the direction I want to pursue...in terms of subject matter. I WANT TO PAINT LIKE B R O M . . . !!!

PITCHBLACK: I'd like to think they are cute girls inside. I want them to have girls night. Girl talk about cooking humans and stuff. what is wrong with me?

S.F.Batchelor: if you are interested, I wrapped up the making of this and the last one on my blog.

    ...enjoy!

Psychobuddy: oh great! thanks...honestly, I want to blame the laptop monitor for this level issue. I'm back home now and looking at this with cintiq 21UX, everything look much darker than I thought. The washed out version is for printing. I had to printout high res copy for final for the class. I learned I need to bump up the mid range crazy high to get the right printout, and that's why it's so pale. Anyway, thanks man! I think your revision looks great!

Artezianin: hi! thanks for the feedback! yeah initial sketch is always the strongest, but also too ambiguous often...I'm trying to keep the original flow while I define some details as I finish this painting...

worked more on the wings. the skeleton layout I tried last time was ok, but looked too organized...

Loving your concepts. Creepy in all the right ways. This newest painting is great, but the lack of legs on the other side of her bothers me a lot. In the earlier version we got a peek at them, which still didn't seem like enough, but with them gone entirely it makes me think they're coming out of her middle instead of her side even though they're positioned on her side (it's funny how the mind works).
If you have the time, please stop by my sketchbook, Chock Full o'Nuts.
I would appreciate any advice or critiques.

    Hi guys!

DKHutcheson: you are right. the perspective looks odd without the other set of legs. Fixed it!

kevin_: thanks! glad to be approved!!

helm: oh thank you! it's finally finished! (I think...)

netxhunter: OK I will keep going!

Newman101: yayyyy that means I leaned how to deal with light! at least I got better!

I just discovered Good Brush presets. Feeling so dumb after spending years trying to recreate those effects I see in a lot of people's work with chalk brush...

The rim lighting on her arms and hands is just gorgeous. Can I ask where you found the brush presets?

DKHutcheson: thanks! I use customized set based on Whit Brachna's tool preset. In addition to the tpl I have blur's good brush and min yum brush preset loaded for textures and effect work. these are helpful, but I found if I have good chalk brush I'm pretty much set for simple character stuff.

GEB: yay! I tried couple different color schemes, but this felt the best fit.

Dude Bruh, just got to say your creatures are AMAZING, you blend the anatomy of humans well with the creepy bits Also I am in serious like with the stills in post 103 from that crazy video, ahahahah too good!, soooooo much movement in them there almost like frames to an animation, a low framed animation ahaha.
As far as crits, your pretty much killin it! but I think psychobuddy made a good point about value range and how it can enhance a piece, but like he said maybe thats not what your trying to achieve, just somethin to chew on
    keep crushin it !!!!!
