yeah, the time has come, muahahaha
finally, the long awaited semester break has arrived.
Trying to get a hang of constructing eyes. Quite tricky... Also some studies at the bottom.

Eyes. Awesome. Do I need to say more? Awesome. Oh, and would love to see a completely painted portrait from you.
I'm realy liking that eye sheet, That's something I should really really do. My eyes are a disaster. And I'm really enjoying that sketchbook of yours.

[Rh˙nn] hey, thanks! Eyes are kind of fun. Just give it a try!
Focusing on head in general as you can see. Tried some noses and the motivation suddenly disappeared^^ Don´t quite understand how they are built yet.

here´s a selfportrait
don´t like it at all, the next one will turn out better
and a portrait from imagination

Wow some great stuff in here. I am a huge fan of your first and last sketches in your second post. (#3) And also love the action and rough concept sketches in (#29)
Thanks for sharing. I will keep watching.
Gorgeous energy to your work, digging the eye and asaro head studies.
Good God!
I love your digital stuff; values are so strong and the strokes in the Nose and Eye studies are beautifully dynamic. The "concept"(?) at the end of the Nose studies is AWESOME looking and it be so cool if you were to render it.
Subscribed x2!
Well I enjoy your portraits, especially the one from imagination. Like Eyecager said, there's a nice energy to your work and a subtle amount of variation in your brushes and technique that brings personality and dynamism.
Hope to see more!
And thank you for stopping by my own sketchbook!

Man, I´m really motivated like crazy at the moment. It´s not entirely fun that keeps me drawing right now, although I enjoy it greatly! It´s more the learning which keeps me motivated.
I tried those nose studies again and this time only with pencil. That was awesome. That´s all I can say^^
First I looked at a bit at anotomy, for example Bammes. Didn´t get it though. Then I started to take some pics and just plain copy the noses (or should I say study?^^) and render the s**t out of them, as far as my skills allow me to.
I only drew a few lines at the beginning to set boundaries for the drawing, then just started to block in values.
After a while you notice just little things here and there and everything makes sense. You can remember the dark and light spots and you understand the form.
On the last page I tried to apply all the stuff I learned and simplify the form in different ways. The noseshapes are still from ref, but I only used the few indicating lines at the beginning.
I´m exaggerating a bit, I guess, but maybe this little experience report is helpful for somebody.
See ya !

Nice constructed noses. I love me a good structured nose.
Hi...and welcome!
Looks like you're doing some good studies and tasty environments.
Your original characters are really inventive...I like all of 'em in #3!
Keep up the good work!

Only two pages and already a super-promising sketchbook. I love how much
pasion you convey in even the simplest little sketches. The and portraits are
coming along nicely. I would check the eye positioning on the last one, I think,
but that's about it for now. Needless to say that the original characters are
super tasty.
Great, great, great!! *****
Keep up the good work!

great work on those studies man ! D: totally worth seeing the breathingball at its best here ! totally diggn!
so nice nose construction
minor comment, should the topleft headside of the 2nd cast not be a little darker? nice work on those too
really nice sb was a pleasure to browse through

Thanks

Glad you like my characters. Thank you!

Yeah, the eye positioning is flawed. I oftentimes flip the canvas and this was really obvious, but as it was a fairly fast portrait I´d rather make another one. Thanks for the great comment! I do appreaciate it!

breathingball? haha ;D

Do you mean the nose with the frontal perspektive? Your right, I totally messed that one up. I moved on very quickly, couldn´t look at it any further^^ Thanks for your comment!
HerrleerzeichenS
bro, thanks
Trying to get everything together without reference, but it´s still so friggin hard...
At least I know for sure what the proportions of the head look like now (theoretically), thanks to Loomis. The heads still look all the same, but that´s not a biggie. For now I just want to get my heads right.
I think I need to study the eye area more, that just ruins everything for me, if it´s not right.
Til´next time!

Your sketchbook is crazy sick! Very inspiring, so thank ya. Aaaand I'll be keeping an eye on this.
Just the way you draw heads, those environments, and characters has got me hooked. Time for me to get back to it!![]()
hey Exhno!
Thanks, man! Appreciate it very much!
Damn, I was lazy the past days. Horrible! Played video games and watched Samurai Champloo (g-g-great!). Say what?! oO
Inspired me to do a random drunken thug. Also, just a few environment thumbs, decided to at least start doodling a few of those to spice it up a little. Major problems there, but hell, it´s only going to be better from here on out
I have quite a few difficulties going beyond the sketching phase. I really like this look, when I feel, there is something to my drawing, this looseness. As soon as I start to render, all this gets lost and it´s not like I add a lot of details.
I guess my workflow isn´t quite there yet, as I have acquired an intuos 4m now (the new generation was just released, stupid me!) and try to somehow replace my keyboard with the buttons/wheel. My left hand just feels crippled now... maybe I will throw away this idea.
Is it just me or are these intuos 4 sidebuttons too hard to press?
regards

haha, great sketches man !![]()
Yeeeah. Great stuff!
Keeep on
Nice ladies you got there, haha. I just noticed that in your 2nd env, the hills are too flat. They are quite close , so you eventually should be able to see the top plane, not only the front. Otherwise, keep it up, cant slack off now!
Love your pencil stuff!
Really cool stuff, your studies are off the hook and I like your loose style in lineworks.
Keep it up!

Semester break didn´t end up as productive as I expected, ups^^
The last days I did some studies. It doesn´t only benefit my knowledge of anatomy, but also my workflow seems to shine through very slowly. The lasso tool oftentimes comes in handy and even the pen tool (especially for the lady-study).
Soft brushes in combination with the lasso tool really push the volumes. After a few hours it gets pretty exhausting, but I see no other way, if you need to define such a soft form like the body of a woman (depending on your favored style of course).
I learned a lot about colors in this one, too.
grey + warm environment = blue-ish
Good thing to know
Till next time!
Great sketches and I'm loving the renderings you're putting up! I'm envious of your skill my friend.
Keep up the good work and I'll be in to check up on ya, I'm sure this sketchbook will go places![]()
noooooiiiice bro D:
