more gestures,30 seconds each-
getting a little better at em, i think thick soft chalky pencils are better for gestures, at least for me.i like pixelovely gestures better than posemaniacs, better to draw real people than 3d models.
Very nice. I like your gesture and pose sketches too. That's something I need to do myself.
thanks chevy i realized i have to do a lot more of those so ive made it a goal to do em more recently, doing the spartan challenges and stuff
some more hand sketches from life and a doodle to make em less boring.
imagination sketch inbetween studying.next thing im working on is a digital material study that ill post in a little.
im happy i have a camera now because i draw so light a lot it doesnt all show with the scanner.
more figure drawing
my sketchbook http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=173397
a couple figure studies.posting more in a bit.(-not focusing on detail just basic construction for now.)
well im tired stayed up all night last night got in the zone and never slept, off to bed soon.
1 hour gesture class at pixelovely.com( going to do this everyday from now on)
gestures ranging from 30 seconds to 30 minutes(30 seconds,,5minute,11 minutes and one 30 minute).
-net time ill use a sharper pencil, this one was too dull for details on the longer drawings.
quick pen sketch from imagination just to apply the studies ive been doing.
not surprisingly doing the gestures and figure studies is helping me, i remember how certain forms and muscles look, better than just studying the anatomy books like i used to do.-i think i may do some more basic form gestures, using loomis construction methods(the stickfigure guy) just to get better at posing and weight also.

doodling in photoshop and ended up coming up with a new way of rendering
basically i never tried the digital aspects of photoshop like the smudge tool and ended up finding away to sculpt out forms with it, might be a new method for rendering.
(this is by no means proportioned or anatomically correct)

sketch of my cup.
blah WIP, probably wont finish it though just working on that different method of digital painting that im workin on.
-not sure if i should stick with this way or go back to the way i used to paint.
a couple of doodles, working on a different method for digital painting/ these aren't anything specifically just practicing my technique.
-still not sure if i should stick with it tho.
went back over this sketch a little using the same method,no ref
allright time for more studyin
Hi man, how are you doing? Great work since my last post here. I like the studies you are doing. Keep practicing anatomy. The one thing that really helps me is drawing the skeleton parts. Find some references and try it.
thanks cojac! and i definately will im working on my construction at the moment ill post them in a sec.
material studies and some design sketches, all photoshop.think i got my new way of rendering down though more practice will help. got a few pages of constructive figures and perspective drawings that ill post when i can.
working on my construction, these are drawn from photo models, turning them into the most basic construction. later i want to draw these from a a reference picture and then turn them around and draw different views.
-going to focus more on perspective too and add foreshortening later.
todays freehand(no rulers) perspective practice, sorry about bad pic quality taken from camera because some were too light for scanner.
crappy quick sketch dump
-need to practice more of these sorts of things, helps improve my perspective a lot. im focusing a lot more on improving my basic foundation, construction and all that.
quick character silhouette sketchin for a morning warmup,
-was just thinking about the design and form , not detail or anything, just some doodling to warm up for serious study.
