Nice variety. I would suggest putting down a horizon line and and laying down some guidelines that go to the vanishing point in every picture. It really helps solidify the space that the objects are taking up. Once you do that it'll give your stuff a lot more weight.
I also noticed that you you used your best work as your thumbnail image for your thread (the elf mage), How did you do that if you don't mind me asking?
Heres a quick Hogarthe study for today.

I probably should have made sure it was more proportionally correct at first, but its still good practice.

So I was thinking about the way contrast can affect an image, i went to the one pic contrast would affect the most and reworked it a bit. and you can do a whole lot with contrast, and i bet you can do the same thing with color vs saturation to create a focal point and draw the eye.
-i know theres still a mistake in the head profile but i was just doing this as an exercise.

You've got some really nice stuff here,
besides all the color studies i would suggest to concentrate a bit more on the anatomy in your characters:
1. Try to draw from life as much as you can, people, cats, dogs, cars...whatever.
2. Make some pure anatomy studies on how the human body looks and works - how muscles look underneath the skin, nude studies, simple bone structure (there is no need to get to medical accuracy level)
3. Gestures and poses; if you can, go to a life drawing sessions (with life models), or use photographs and various sites to study how the human figure looks in different poses and situations.
Hope it helped a bit,
Keep up with the good work!
Cheers,
Fallen.
Open for commissions......just PM me.
hey thx bro, i have been slacking on my anatomy studies lately(though if you look through my sketchbook more youll see i have done a lot) though you can never study too much anatomy, i definately need to do much more gestures, I am really going to buckle down and work my ass off, thanks for the comment, every little bit helps

Good job so far. I've noticed you tend to create stylized human proportions but at the same time it seems like a guise to cover up your knowledge of human proportions. Perhaps try and review over the proportions in Loomis's book till you have it drilled into your head. Keep a regular schedule on gestures and that is pretty much the trick of using them to improve. I also suggest trying to study the forms of objects and how contours wrap around them while also learning to rotate basic shapes(cylinders, boxes, cones etc.) with correct perspective. Normally people(including me) started off with anatomy thinking that is what we lack in when in fact it is actually the ability to draw the simple forms that make up the anatomical structure which is what we lack in. That is why a lot of surgeons don't really know how to accurately draw the human figure although they know the complete human anatomy.

1 hour study of some random model. i added imaginative elements(demonic stuff) to make the study more fun.

thanks kamikazel! thanks for the advice i have gestures and perspective in my daily routine now(though i cant post most of my pencil stuff because i lack a scanner) thanks for the advice though! definately going to drill those proportions in. i do know a lot more about proportions know, the whole 8 head measurement thing and 2 1/2 head width and all that but sometimes i get lazy and dont apply what i know in quick sketches.
