Welcome back! Your lines are as strong as ever (probably stronger), and I like how that last dragon has a human torso. While it is a good idea to apply human anatomy everywhere, maybe learning a bit of quadruped/bird anatomy will take you far as well. Just a thought.

Anyway, do update frequently like before. I look forward to it.

It's been a while since I checked out your SB. You're doing great!
Nice colors, good line control, and your figures are very pleasing to the eye.
    Keep it up man.

    @ Kevin_ : Thanks! I will
@ Vritra : Thank you The human anatomy in the dragon is due to the fact that I don't know any other way of doing it yet. Some of the studies you mentioned would greatly benefit me I think. I'm u[dating every day again
    @ WRappiii : Thanks!

Crazy good pencils and lines as always! I can really see the Pascenko/Hannes influence shining through, and it's looking great. The life drawings on this page that you don't like are really sweet, and the WIP for your dad shows a lot of potential too.

If I could recommend anything it would be to focus on painting a bit more...your anatomy and draftsmanship is currently a lot better than your painting skills, so you might wanna even that out a bit, especially since you don't use much value/rendering typically in your sketches. Once you get good at painting you will seriously start kicking ass--look at Pascenko, he sucked at painting a couple years ago, then sat down and finally learnt it. Now he's fucking insanely good. That's you too. Paint a bit and become like your heros

Anyways, keep drawing and try to actually post daily like you always promise I'll be keeping an eye on you as you post more and develop!

@ Andrew Sonea : Thank you! Yes, painting is where I plan to focus a little more now. I still don't feel confident in my lines, especially hands and faces (expect studies I guess), but my painting really does feel "behind". I'm gonna stop making promises, I feel ridiculous about how many I've failed to keep here

    Anywaaaays...
These are my families' christmas presents. I've only actually done the colour block-ins so far, so I'll shade these and paint them and generally polish them up a lot more before I put them down for good.

nice work man! good volume of work. the figures and compositions look a bit flat and stiff though, i would find a good life drawing workshop and work on your gestures (nothing more than 1 min). learn about rhythm, gesture, line of action, etc. also study storyboard artists work like those from disney and dreamworks. i know that's far apart from the fantasy illustration stuff you want to do, but the secret to good draftsmanship in those storyboards. for storyboard artists, stiff poses get thrown to the side and they only focus on movement and storytelling with simple linework. once the structure is laid out you can render to your heart's content and the poses will still be good.

@ Eightball_ : Thanks for the link! I agree, I need to push the movement more. Stuff feels pretty stiff sometimes.

You may recognize this from a page ago.. I did a really loose sketch for teen challenge. I decided to go back in and tighten this up for my portfolio. Here's my progress thus far.

Great stuff as always...I just want to reiterate that you need to push the painting aspect more. Your stuff is so well drawn and that you GOTTA paint it nicely too! I love the composition and everything about this one (hehe love overly muscled guys, so much fun to paint!). I had to do a quick paintover to show kinda what I mean... I may have gone a little overboard with it in the opposite direction of you, but I hope it still proves my point. You have such a great start here, but right now it is very very flat looking. It is almost comic book feeling, but lacks a lot of the strong shapes of that. The end result is just...a bit of a boring flat painting that can be so much better. You have such cool muscles and stuff there just dying to have their forms properly revealed! I put in a nice strong light to punch out those forms and some cool shadow shapes too to make it a bit more interesting. Notice how by adding in some lighting and form the whole painting feels like it has more impact? And how now your eye is really forced to that center focal point. Notice too how it reads better in general too, like try shrinking this to thumbnail size and comparing the before/after. You just need to think about light sources a bit more and how to best push every aspect of the painting (even things that aren't lighting...like push EVERYTHING, for example, in your version the stitches and stuff are practically invisible, you want to SHOW them) to provide as much visual interest as possible. Hope that helps! Keep up the good work dude

    @ kikindaface : Thanks! I'm training them!
@ Andrew Sonea : Wow, dude! Amazingly helpful paintover! Yeah, totally agree. I need to push the value range way further too. I'm not done with it though! I'm only about 4 hours in, and I really plan on focusing in on all the stuff you've talked about. I really like that mist/fog you added. I hadn't thought of that yet and it's making the exact cliché mood I'm looking for.
    @ Gleisson C. : Thanks bro!
