Joe Kubert Corrospondence Course

Next challenge.

I could've went to the Kubert school back in '95 but I blinked and took another path that turned out as equally beneficial...but there's always that regret...that if only...

So I decided to take the Corrospondence courses.

First-pencilling.

There are three I want to invest in, pencilling, inking, & story-graphics.

Between this and the PC-Repair certificate, I should be busy for a few months.
The Kubert assignment guesses the student to take 5 to 6 months for the five assignments in the course.

This should put my regret to bed!

I could have gone to Kubert, but I went to SCAD instead (which actually was my second choice). I get reminded all the time because I still get mail from them. I always wonder how things would have gone if I went there.

Beh, I just know I'd be a completely different person. I would have picked up different influences.

Who's the one member that goes there? I forgot her name.

Ah. I thought of taking a SCAD course just to have it under my belt.

Is worthwhile to have?

Pezz, I think.

Do they mention anywhere what skill level they believe you should be at for the correspondence courses? I know that if you physically go they have the "entry-level" courses available, which wouldn't really be possible via correspondence.

Nope. No requirement of skill level.

As long as it's from one of the good teachers, then yes.

Sent off my first assignment. 3 weeks it took me to get three panels to look right!

Now, the waiting...

Challenging. I've all the skillsets for sequentials but it's different when working with the expectations of a predetermined layout/panel limit of 3, and each panel having to have what the script calls for. Definitely a learning experience in analyzing the best way in figuring how to relay the images without altering panel shape, which I had the urge to do. Also wanted to add a panel. Designing a cowboy wasn`t hard, though I'm not into the genre, I was able. Just wonder what they will make of my work.
