    this could use some fixing

i tried to draw one picture of Marko´s pictures, i think it came out quite good(month or 2 old)

started it in school and finished at home...quick one

    someones drawing was a ref.

    then i found fengs webpage

    doodles

    someones drawing was a ref.

if i find a good pic done by someone else i try to draw it myself...good for practice, but starting now i try to post only my drawings.

here are some pictures i recently made. they look much better on paper, i had to darken them in photoshop cause the scanner made them very bright.

Finally I can show some new pictures i have done. I had to make them darker in Photoshop cause the scanner what i use at my mothers workplace makes them very bright.

    Enjoy,

Lets join hands everybody because it is update time. This time I will show you 3 watercolor paintings. These are 3 paintings I have ever done but more is coming. Because i have never used watercolors before i have Philip Berrill´s book called "Everyone´s guide to watercolor painting" for help.
Just showing how these paintings turned out.

    Enjoy

    Hi,
again I have some new pictures to show. And thanks to Kinnas i got a great sketchbook where i have filled almost 40 pages already, it looks like this...

    front:

    back:

    again big thanks to Kinnas!!!

    some pictures..

I started to use a new pencil i found, PITT graphite pure 2900 9B Faber-Castell. With this pencil it is easy to loosen up, practice shapes and it wont let you go very detailed.

These are done very fast, about 5min or less.

Like these watercolors landscapes. Try to add some yellow strokes to the trees to emulate the light of the sun.

two pics from a trip to the beach(which is about 500m from my home ), have to repeat it some time soon. picture of a man took about 30 secs cause i had to do it very fast before he moved, it turned out quite good. the other one is just the view, also turned out quite good. third is just something with no meaning at all.

Hey! Your showing progress. Keep not using the grids, though. It'll train your eye better without them. Also try to observe the planes of the head. Loomis' books are a great source, as you've probably been recommended before Also for values and good lessons in training your eye, check out The Artist's Comlete Guide to Drawing the Human Head by Maughan.

    Keep updating!

Definately, I'm seeing improvement too. Keep practicing.

The Loomis books are out of print last I heard. Good news is that they're available free online. http://www.saveloomis.org/

You landscapes are looking good. Keep in mind about perspective. In last landscape sketch, the right side of the box looking object doesn't look like it's following the appropriate vanishing point. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if it doesn't.
Ok, I'm done posting... Back to drawin'!

SirRon - thanks dude!!! and thanks for the loomis link!!! The box looking object is a dressing box actually, people change theire clothes there when they are at the beach. the reason why the box is crooked is that in front under the box there is more sand then behind the box, so it is supposed to be in this position, i drew what i saw.

Fut - decided to check out your sketchbook while I had a few - you're working hard it seems! That sketchbook rocks!

I've seen a lot of good suggestions on your thread already, and I've seen some improvement as well! your anatomy seems pretty good when you try at it - mastering the skull and facial anatomy is haaaaaard, but worth it. you're doing good, keep up the good work. Practice keeping your shading free, but a little more refined - use softer lines and less squiggles when you can. it's an effort at first, but i think it'll help you as you learn the planes of the face and such.

also, don't forget there are TONS of wicked and amazing tutorials on this website...search around if you hit a roadblock, or need inspiration, conceptart.org probably has what you need!

    later,

    hey fut

hey, i am noticing that you have a lot of potential! i think you should start drawing faces and bodies from other angles though and start experimenting with more anatomical studies. they will help you build the illustion of form in your paintings and drawings

    nice painting

Hey fut, that is a pretty rad painting you have there. I really like the textures that are present in it. It kind of makes me think of folk art with the characters that are there. It's even a little creepy because they have beady little eyes and jelly bean bodies. I a now afraid of the little candies because of you. Keep it up!

rollb82 - I am really glad you like it!!! Purpose of this painting was to get hang of gouache cause it was my first time using it. First i painted the 3 guys floating and after that i started throwing all kind of colors for background. I think i have 5+ layers there =) . Every time i look at it i start liking it even more. For the final touch i used toothbrush to put on these little spots and then I used my finger to add random colors .

NB! Beware of the candies!!! They will EAT you!! lol

    nice updates

I like the sketches of the robots. I also think the last drawing is one of your strongest. The only thing i would suggest is showing the form of his deltoid (upper arm/shoulder) through his shirt. Don't be afraid of leaving in lines that help you create structure because it is pretty inspiring to see how someone works.

p.s. soldier with jetpack is sweet. i may have to do my own version of flying cowboy robots because of it.
