there're things really good, even if your line on the last post is a little shaded. But your work is good, continue !

Great sense of composition on the previous page. Keep it up and maybe take one of the concept environments to a higher level of finish?
Your values are great man.Maybe on the next one try to stay away from brushes that are so overly textured, it's easy to get lost in those things.

still trying to get my momentium back so here's a few more crap sketches overthinking and worrying too much

all your environments are very interesting, good sketchbook.
well feng zhu latest tutorial is really inspiring so here are a few thumbs
still need to work more on brush control, patience, and spending more time on sketches both in photoshop and oil painting. At least I got the ideas down more traditonal sketches will be uploaded next and I'll try to take photos of my oil sketches
5 to 10 minutes on each sketch
Try not to worry too much about the results and have fun with the process.Your studies show improvement.Keep it up!![]()
Speed paintings are looking good.Fenh zhu makes it look so easy.
thanks for that comment and yes feng zhu does make it look easy using the same default chalk brushes I dont like using round brushes make my stuff look weird and I'm still trying to make a brush that have a painterly look to them
I love FZD man. Some great inspirational stuff from his vidz. I also like the chalk brush. I like the last 4 paints. They have good mood in them.
Duotone painting studies and a update on one of the thumbnails

Hey man you're speed paints are looking cool. One thing I noticed on those value studies a few posts up, on the apple and the ball you used pure black, I dunno if it's something you do much, but I'd advise against it. Black isn't something that really happens in nature. Anyway keep it up.![]()

thanks for the comment
Nice enviro studies! I like how you work with light and color.![]()
some more sketches I better try illustrations next so far I did a few oil paintings I have to find a camera to upload and I just started getting into sculpting so except to see some scupltures till then some more sketches of enviros and I just realise I'm running out of some ideas

You'll never run out of ideas if you think about the atmosphere and different viewing angles. Fruit is improving with the apple on the previous page and the grapes above. I don't consider the Vermeer a failure - you've blacked it in well, the colours are good and I can recognise it.
As for the vermeer study, i used to block in with shapes or blobs of paint right away, but after years of trial and error i found that good old "drawing first" works best.
Definitely on the right track tho. Keep ya head up.
Keep studying hard dude. It might seem like torture at times but your hard work is showing through. Keep up the pen sketches. try setting up objects on your desk and study them at different angles with different lighting on them. Id recommend pencil if you have one lying around.
@Blackspot thanks for your comments and advice
@Icecold I'll try to
@ Chris Sanders Oh more pencil sketches are to sure to come on till then enjoy this oil painting sketches I just uploaded
Brands of oil paint I used
Gamblin
M Graham
Grumbacher
Mediums:
Just good old walnut oil by M graham
I dont use cads or colbalt I just use most earth tone brushes like the old masters with a little bit of alizarin crimson and thalo yellow green
more pencil sketches

you are steadily improving, and if you keep up with your studies you're going to end up getting better and better!
i think you might have a few issues with rendering the basic forms - seen in the fruits, mostly - the shape kinda lacks a certain something in the shading- and detailing, so i suggest working on those :3
Thank you and I will work on forms now
did two of these whilst listening to massive attack

Good studies, mate!
But try to control your lines more. They're very loose and uncontrolled. The same goes to hatching and straight lines. Do some studies just for the straight lines and hatching, that will help a lot!
Nice stuff. Keep on goin. And give my sketchbook a lookover! Subscribed.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Nobody made good art by coloring in between the lines.
