Well turns out I really suck at illustration this was just a random idea that I came up out of scribbles then I realized they look like space marines from starcraft or warhammer so thank to my cousin who gave me crit about this he say try changing the space marine in the front into thinner armor but I'll like to hear your crits about it to

Right now they do look identical to blizzard spacemarines.
Is that what your going with now?, if not i would begin with getting rid of those huge blocky shoulderpads :o

regardless if you'll stick with it or not, i can recommend trevors new stream
on all things scifi related , http://www.livestream.com/claximumoverdrive

and perhaps look up some moviestills of guys in space armor, study the materials and texture, then apply.
You can also study real objects. Donato uses marbles as ref for reflections.
    Take care

Nice stuff here; I especially like the onion studies on page 1! BTW, I'm a big Mucha fan, too.

Nothing wrong with space marines lookalikes, but I noticed the guy's head in 31 looks too small for his arms to actually reach the arm-shaped armor parts. Or maybe it's a powered exoskeleton thing like Aliens/Avatar?

Wow, nice studies here! How long did you spend on those copies? They look pretty awesome to me, especially the still life.

I'm a total noob, but I'll mention it anyhow in case it's useful: you said you were going for value, but to my eye the girl's upper right arm, her left foot, and the top right of the background are a bit off value-wise. That said, you're much better than me, so feel free to tell me to stuff it

BTW, I like the update to the space marine sketch in #36.

Very brave of you to attempt pomegranates for real - not sure if I'd want them too close to my computer. You're doing the right things, just keep doing them. With the master studies, maybe you could spend a bit longer on them to really push them.

hey man, great sketchbook! it looks to me like you know what you want and you have a pretty good idea how to get there, just keep up the perseverance now. my suggestion to you would be to try doing some form studies with pencil (or charcoal if you have it).. photoshop is nice for that too, but pencil will better get the foundational technique that you want instilled into you, plus you can take it with you on the road
