I know the feeling but you must share. It is the only way to actually compare your work.
I like your thumbnail sketches and maybe see if you can spend longer on a piece too see how you fair on it.

Nice values. I really like the composition in the top one of http://attachments.conceptart.org/fo...2&d=1323699495. Maybe work on that some more to create a finished piece?

Might be a good idea to do some pure line drawings of simple geo shapes. Boxes, cilinders etc (plates from your kitchen are great elipses for instance). Draw them from different angles (standing above them, sitting beside them, etc). It's a good assignment if you want to learn more about form in 3D space and what kind of shape it creates on a 2D surface.

And lets see some figure drawing / painting too.

Beautiful studies... I love all of them And the brushstrokes and textures in the first painting are awesome!

Beautiful work! I love your strokes and just your compositions. I personally have nothing to say atm but just keep up the good work!
Trying to learn how to critique art. I hope I don't confuse anyone.
Oh yeah, if you got some time, mind critiquing my art? http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=234050

Nice start! Study value, contrast, fluent transition from shades to reflexes and highlights, then add color. Strokes in your paintings are kinda muddled and too chaotic but thats just my opinion. Try adding less strokes but get the most out of them. Play with flow and pen pressure. Keep up the good work!

Yes, i can see improvement in your stillifes.
Your latest onions are nicely rendered although use overlay modes sparingly.
I can see some admosphere going on in your enviro's.

You said dont sugarcoat right? What is your drive, do you want to do conceptual work, illustration, something else? right now you are mainly doing environments and stillifes. unless you want to paint guns and props and landscapes for a living i cant stress enough the importance of the human figure.

not being able to scan the drawings is no exuse not to draw in Ps.
perhaps make it a habit of doing 2 hours of stillife every day.\
    nice start and keep up!

great digital works so far. My main crit would be to include more graphite and sketching in your sb. Traditional drawing just cannot be beaten for giving you strong foundations to draw on! Looking forward to seeing some more paper-work!

    Good luck

    Unhappy

Well no pencil sketches yet (they're coming hold your horses)
so I tried some other things (thanks ThomasM for the advice)
here are some more landscapes a nude study I did and a lizard study then I edited the lizard sketch and turned it into a turtle lot of chopping and editing
still sucks but oh well I'll let you guys decide lol

p.s I did not copy it photo by photo (cept the nude study) I just study at what the lizard and turtle look like and tried my own approach to it

hey man the value studies and sketches are looking good. my only critique would be to avoid going 100% pure black or 100% pure white. it's nice to have a full value range but having too wide a spectrum can make some paintings look too contrasty (like a high exposure photograph). anyway keep up the good work! nice inspiration wall too. khang le is awesome!

Go easy on yourself with the dragons, I think they look sweet! I really like your work a lot, though. Also, I might have a look at some of the artists on your influence map!
