Just proves you need to be partly brain-dead to be an artist.

The fractal guy's story is pretty cool. I imagine him being a real life Dr. Manhattan, without the actual super power

From the art store that I work at it seems to be more along the lines of people who move to retirement homes and suddenly become artists...

I suffered multiple head injuries over a brief period of time playing sports in high school and college. At the time I had little desire to be an artist and I hadn't drawn in many years. During my recovery period I rediscovered the talent for art that I displayed as a child. It should be of note that all my injuries were sustained to the left side side of my head. When I asked my neurologist he said this was most likely due to my right brain compensating and taking over as the dominant side of my brain, as the left side healed. Also during this time I had great difficulty with speech/vocabulary and short term memory. From my experience I wouldn't go as far as to say it makes you some prodigy or anything close to that. Simply lets the creative side of the brain take control and fuels the desire to want to create art and maybe helps a bit in understanding the principles?

So the only thing all these kids on CA complaining about how they can't advance in their art need is a couple of good whacks round the head then? Sounds like a good plan.
