The confidence in your mark-making is really inspiring, especially in the digital work. (The pastel studies are nice too, but the texture of the paper seems to be taking away from some of the nice boldness you get otherwise.)

Revidescent: Thats exactly the one and only flaw i've been trying to overtake with the pastels, i though i had it with that last one but after posting it i new it was a fail... i've been aware of the problem since the first Caillebotte, lets see how i do the next one, thanks for the reminder man.

Here are some forest studies (i hate painting forests, it is frustrating) and a speed painting (which, again i am not that happy with..), might do another forest based sp... i really don't like the end results of these... some of them are very hard to read..:

I couldn't sleep today so i started doing a copy of Theodore Giracault's ''The Kleptomaniac'' in a very loose way, not thinking too much in details, not even doing a sketch first, just putting colors on the canvas and see what i can achieve with that.., this is complementing to something i heard, which stated that when you are relaxed you are more likely to get better results, so i gave it a try, i just love the loose process I've stumble up with

after getting some sleep and going to school, came back and did a couple more, a Sargent and a Repin

nice studies! and yeah i made that experience too....when i'm not relaxed while painting and put too much pressure on i usually fuck it up or atleast i get better results when i'm relaxed.

I love love love those forests, especially the first one. Nice master studies too, they've got a good rhythm to 'em.

Revidescent: Ah! i'm glad, i really hated them when i saw them all together in the post, i still think i didn't quite got to understand them, but they're just studies.., on the other hand i'm quite happy with the master studies, thanks for stopping by!

So, i gave the pastels another go, but again, failed, also learned some stuff.., got some blending tools which helped spread the pastels and cover most of the paper, but i am beginning to think that the paper i bought specially for the pastels has a very very rough texture that doesn't help me get a nice finish leaving little blank spots, i mean i'm as confident with the pastels as i am with the other mediums, and i believe it is the paper i bought, i'll buy another paper with a softer texture and see what comes out....

I have been very busy these days... arriving home late at night and beginning with school (finally my last year) i haven't been able to paint that much... again i'm sorry for the short amount of updates, but here: two Paul Delaroche studies, the first one i couldn't get the eyes right, not wanting to make a fuzz a bout it, i left it as it was... i wanted to play a bit more with the brushwork on the second one..:

So, i catch up a flu some days ago... got my defenses down... i get asthma just from sitting, go short of breath very often, and have headaches every now and then, is quite annoying really, i didn't want to draw, but i just couldn't bear with the idea of not practicing, its quite funny... i think... so anyways, ''updates'', hum... here are two copies i did in my literature class of some portraits i found in the subject's book... and one Sargent study, enjoy.

Long time, right? sorry for the lack of updates lately... i have huge amount of homework to do, and i also have been practicing the guitar a lot lately... so don't have much time to paint, but even so I've painted some stuff, here's a bit of that..:

Try to mix using that brush with a soft round to get some really nice edge variations

Thx for sketchbook visit man, great studies here, absolutely love your master studies and environments. One point though, is make sure these will transfer into your imagination work, even if you don't wanna do any yet . Oh and I'm starting a study (or trying to) so if you wanna join (or anyone else reading this) just get back to me and I'll try and sort everything out keep it up.

Master studies are looking good, great colour use on the Rockwell ones. I like the imagination image from the 9th, though the composition feels just a tiny bit awkward, and I think it has something to do with the placement of the moon. It's making everything look a bit squished towards the centre.

Holy shit your recent stuff looks incredible!! The graveyard looks awesome. really like the light behind that tree. can't really make any comments since you are way better than me lol one thing I learned from Feng Zhu's video is he adds a lot of mist to objects far away. The tree seems really far away so maybe the small branches wouldn't be so clearly defined? I don't know that seems pretty much nit-picking though.. so yeah... lol It's amazing to see how fast you improve, and you are already so good and so young to start with @@..... I really love the brush experiment pieces you did. So jealous.
