RV-: Thanks!
you already know i have been a bit slow with my paintings right now, but i think i have a pretty good excuse for that... but anyways, today i decided to paint a little bit, so i painted two sculpture studies.
the first one is a study of Daniel Chester French work, and the second one is a Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux study...

wow, the sculptures look great. Love the mood of the second one. It is great way how to practice lightning, I should try it too. It must be fun.
thanks for visiting my sb, loving that last bust study its a beaut!
What a lovely sketchbook! The last two figures, the ballerina and the backlit girl are particularly good.
I'm glad to see you do those buststudies, will look forward to see more of the figures but with slightly more facial featuresKeep going!
Dope SB! I'm really enjoying those textures in your recent works. I think it'd be great to see you do some personal pieces.
The studies are excellent and its really encouraging to see simple concepts executed well.
Keep on going man!
blu01: Hey man! thanks for stopping by and thanks for the comment too, lotta fun painting those bust, you should try it
rich4rt: sure man, no problem, thanks for the comment!
Edward B: thanks for stopping by, I'm glad you like my sketchbook!, I'm definitely gonna try to do some figures studies with facial features, cheers man!
S.F.Batchelor: hey! thanks for visiting my sketchbook, for now I'm doing studies more than personal pieces just to gain more knowledge and then do my personal stuff with a bit more ease, thanks for the comment!
so, nothing much to show really, haven't been painting that much this pasts weeks, got me a bit down... i'll try to recover next week (a part of my family, wich i haven't seen in a long time are going back to were they live) so i'll have more time to spend on my paintings
here's something to freshen the sb a bit, nothing much as i said:

lovely studies! so much nice colors going on in your stuff. the brushwork and colors on that girl in post #140 are awesome. i love that one!
Thanks for useful advice. Your colors are getting better. I think that there is something wrong with that horse. We should see front left leg or not?
Well hello once again (:
ah man you're getting better and better by everytime i visit your SB haha and I really have nothing much to say but how you keep making me love all those textures and colors you use! seriously man you keep working on that!
still drooling over the brush work, cool updates!
cedule: thanks! i'm glad you like that one, i'm very happy with that one too, cheers man!
blu01: sure man! no problem, humm well... i think everything is wrong with that horse haha, it is suppose to be a study on a steppe/plain landscape (colors and that) i didn't pay much attention to the figures.. thanks again!
Kaihartj: hey!thank you so much for these comment you left in my sb every now and then, i really appreciate them, and i definitely will! cheers!
kevin_: thanks for that kind comment man
not much for today, not painting today, want to practice with my guitar a bit, i'll maybe paint something later, but! i have all the time i want now, so you will se more updates from now on (i hope so) here:
A sargent study and two movie studies, can you guess what movie?
you have some really cool & clean brush work dude! looking forward to more!
I love these peeps.
good stuff. you seem to have the blocking and the shapes down but your rendering is not tight enough. you need to focus on polishings ur drawing...fight club
I like the studies and I agree with the previous poster, would like to see some tighter, more polished word at least occasionally.Would like to see more varied values too (darker darks, lighter lights, etc)
Hi mate, loving those bust studies. Think there are a few head construction issues with the sargent though, looks a little lop-sided. Great likeness of ed norton btw, especially considering the relatively low detail.
Ludic: Thanks! i really appreciate the comment, cheers man
gamersgene: thanks, yes, that's something people tell me a lot in this thread, i'm trying to get that going in my work, thanks again!
Sapphirelullaby: working on that! thank you for the comment
Kvetch: thanks for stopping by man, yep i can see what you're talking about on the sargent study.. maybe i'll do something about that, dunno tho.. haha, you did recognize the man!, thanks again
so, nothing new, decided to clean-up a sketch you have seen before to try and break that bad habit, at least on the originals.. here:

really good work on #168. you should do that more often
blu01: Thanks for the comment man! and yes it is the same actor but no the same movie haha, cheers!
gamersgene: Yep, i got that one stuck on my head for a while, i'm decided to do more of these, thanks!
here's what i have been up to with my oils, the skull is a study of Gloominati's pack of skull reference, which i found about it in Kvetch's sketchbook so i just decided to try that out... the colors came way off but i like the result, i really need to learn some color theory and mixing... anyway:

Dahlium: Thanks

The film studies are cool. The pictures from post #177 are from mind or they are movie studies too? Great personal stuff from last post. The orange rectangles remind me portal game. I want to see more!
I appreciate the recent visit. You have great studies. I love how you maintain a painterly look in yours (would like to come up with a more painterly style myself).
Keep up the nice work (would very much like to see more)!![]()
