I suppose I've finally started making some art I'm not completely humiliated by and it's time to start a FF thread. Here are some children's illustrations going into my portfolio:

Like your work very much. Subtle, individual style, focused, storytelling, brilliant drawing. Enjoy very much this thread without musclemen, pinup warrior women and tech monsters.
Just looked through your portfolio and I'm really digging your style...especially your comics.
As for your work here, I'd have to say that I think the image with the lady carrying the brick is really well drawn and I prefer this technique over the others....although I also like the drawing with the rabbits as well.
Overall, good job.

Thanks kindly for the comments! Sorry for the late reply, I thought I'd said something here already.
Yeah, I've had lots of practice doing comics. It's too bad I'm a bit burnt out on comics at the moment since they seem to be some of my strongest work.
I wish I could figure out what it is that people like about the girl with the brick so that I could do more of it.I actually tossed it out of my portfolio at one point and when I consulted some friends about it they made me put it back. Shows what I know about art!

I actually really dig your style. #2 is my favorite. I wish I could give you more constructive critiques but I'm just learning myselfOne thing, the right foot of the floating lady in post #6 looks a little long to me. Keep posting!

@Hauxe - Thank you! And thanks for the critique you did give, I tried for an exaggerated pose but it's clearly not working, you're not the only person who pointed out that leg. I'll have to work on my perspective-y poses.

I was thinking about the what you said about the picture of the girl carrying the stone. For me the appeal lies in the colours, I really like those muted pastels. It is different from the usual saturated primary colours that you find in childrens illustrations. The other thing that I like about it is her expression, it is determined but she shows clearly that it is a real effort to carry the rock. That is easy to relate to for both children and adults.
I think that there is a tendency to make childrens illustrations always cheerful there are plenty of room for other expressions as well.
Anyhow I really like your work here. It seems like you are experimenting with different styles and I like the variety.
