The self portraits are cool. I'd liked to see more of your traditional work, pencil & paper. It's my favorite.
Hello.
You're doing good, keep pushing those anatomy drawings I talked to you about. It's the main thing that's off in your drawings and paintings. Your paintings are actually a lot better than the drawing underneath.
Keep it up![]()
Study of an MMA fighter, i was frustrated doing it, but i learned a little about color.
Still life really learning a lot from still lifes, i want to do them more.
shitty still life but it's not the end of the world
i love this study, i learned shit load from it, i gotta do some anatomy studies now.

hey man! your on the right track!
(the following is just my opinion)
theres 2 thing you need to focus base drawing and randering/paint/familiarize with photoshop
you got loomis, so just keep going on that track, its just practise.
the painting is the same. but maybe doing more black and white studies. its quite confusing to think of form , value and color all at the same time, so do 1 by 1. start with base drawing, do values. and if you feel like the values are solid, put some color in.
life drawing and mastar studies are the waay to go!
so pretty much, just keep at it![]()

I'm trying to work from memory here, but it's so hard. here's what i came up with though, anyone have any suggestions on how to get a good imaginative drawing down? i know light, line, design and subject is important, but how do you plan them? i had a very horrible drawing to begin with. and sometime this week I'll be uploading work from school.
so i just turned 19 i feel so old haha. i haven't posted in like a month and i hate it because it makes me seem lazy, i want to make it a goal to update once a week or twice a month just so i keep working. anyway, here are some work.
studies!!
i can really use a crit on this personal piece if you have any suggestions please feel free to share.
Good job dude, this is the kind of shit we wanna see! Those masterstudies are a really good idea. Focus on your drawing abilities at all times, work on structure, anatomy, perspective and all those tasty fundamentals. You're definitely improving so thats great! More more more!![]()
You have some perils in here man. I'd say focus on the drawing aspect more than on painting at the moment, as it's the foundation to all artists out there.
Try to make a "map" for yourself with a gentle pencil strokes first so that you make sure the proportions are correct, before you move on to rendering.
But let me tell you this, you certainly have it in you! Now it's just hundreds of hours of hard work, but you know how it works. The Rome was not built in one day my friend![]()
@Ice i do agree with what you said and i'll work on that.
so i've been busy with work barely having time to myself and when i do i'm too tired to draw. But i registered for a class at the teaching studios ( teachingstudios.com) and so far i'm learning a lot. i'd recommend it to anyone, because they teach you thoroughly and you understand it. i've been working on a personal piece and it has to do with perspective which i know nothing about, so i'm still reading on perspective and such till i get a grip of it. if you have any suggestions please feel free to comment, i don't bite.

Nice work, you're on the track for success mate, the one thing I can say is that your heads /faces are pretty much all drawn facing the same direction, try mix it up a bit, draw some more dynamic angles, it's loads of fun![]()
@Chislu Thanks i really appreciate it and i'm hoping to see more works from you
@Si3g Thanks for that suggestion! i never noticed that, this means i need to leave my comfort zone and do my intense studies. i'll go hard on that Loomis book now.
Hi, keep practicing!
A few things... for now I'd suggest working in grayscale instead of trying to work in color right off the bat. Try making some value scales before you begin (maybe about 5 different tones) and then use those to make your painting/drawing. It'll help you keep track of the different ranges of lights and darks that make up a balanced composition.
Other than that, try to really look at the figure as a whole. Ask yourself how the figure is balanced, where the weight is distributed, what kind of rhythms are generated by the body, etc. Try doing some gesture drawing to loosen up. If at all possible, see about finding someone in real life to draw. Draw people on the street or random objects in your room. The more you realize that it's all connected (ie how well you can do a still life vs how well you can capture a likeness in a portrait), the faster your progress will be.
Best of luck!
I do agree i've been having problems with color and keeping them tight i just didn't know what to do to fix it, but now that you've mentioned it i'll work on that. same goes with the gesture drawing, i need to do them more often and still lifes. Thank you very much for pointing those outvery well appreciated.
