Finished working on the vehicles one from last post. Also some anatomy studies (a lot more of these coming this month as I try and learn some things) and a DSG.
Finished working on the vehicles one from last post. Also some anatomy studies (a lot more of these coming this month as I try and learn some things) and a DSG.
Some more anatomy and random sketches. Also tried to paint strawberries using analogous colors.
More anatomy studies and random sketches. Feel like I'm slowly learning as I try and figure out where things go.
More random sketches and studies from Peck. Also a DSG, been enjoying doing these as I try and apply little things I'm learning.
Some more anatomy studies, need to keep working on getting (and seeing) proportions right. Also a DSG.
More anatomy studies from Peck and a WIP DSG.
Finished the DSG, was playing around with the color layer. Ended up looking pretty washed out. And so my battle with color continues...
Kept playing around with this one. Also tried some traditional painting (acrylic).
A DSG, a skull (nupastel on cardboard), and just a sketch.
Decided to combine all of my smaller sketchbook threads into this one, so moving the newer stuff into here. Added some way older images to the first post of this thread to keep it all chronological. Going to use this thread from now on. Stopped counting hours, it was a good motivational tool for awhile, but now motivated by just wanting to get better and learn more.
And one new one

mostly western stuff, which will pretty much continue for most of December

wow! lots of practice and dedication here!
I love those anatomy studies, they look pretty good. Are they only from Peck or also other sources as well?
Moreover those silouttes both digital and traditional got my attention as I've seen people using those when they want to do a character design, but I haven't been able to do it right, for I tend to draw the outline first and without that I'm lost.
Is DSG refered to daily sketch group? those studies look very nice, could you please give me the link to the DSG?
keep up the studies![]()
oh those skulls came out pretty nice (even though one of them looks a bit stretched)
Indeed good dedication you have![]()

nice sb! you might want to keep an eye on your contrast a bit though, anyways keep it up!
@Miss.BonBon Thanks! Most of the studies are from Peck, some of them that are probably all wrong are from my imagination =P DSG is the DAILY SKETCH GROUP.
@Sushy Thanks, funny how i always feel like a slacker though
@kevin_ Thanks, and I'll try and pay attention to my contrast more. I'm guessing you mean when I don't have enough (where it looks washed out) and areas where I'll have too much (where it loses realism).
A DSG, some cowboys from reference, a copy of a Joe Johnston sketch from "The Empire Strikes Back Sketchbook", and some random sketches.

You've got some really nice anatomy studies and your proportions and faces are coming along nicely
For your digital paintings: Try to check the values more often! I do this by putting a completely black layer on top of my painting and setting it to "color" mode. Now you can turn B/W on and off. I find this very useful.
Keep it coming!
@ecki Thanks for the tip!
Happy new year everyone, here's to another year of learning and exploring.

Hey hey, happy new year! Nice update and studies, keep up the hard work.
That weapon reminds me of the current "Design Lab" that Sinix is running: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1zLjenw0as
