Small Gods
Design a god of tiny things....

This week we would like you to spare a thought for the gods and goddesses for the smaller things in life; like the God of Odd Socks or the malevolent goddess of paper cuts. Basically, we would like you to design a god (or Goddess) of small, incidental things that happen in your day to day life, but never really give much thought to.

The Guidelines:

• Can be male or female
• Must be a god of something fairly unimportant
• Please no Tooth Fairies or existing deities.
• Must be clear what it is god of.
• Cannot be any taller than 2 inches, so think about how you would show scale

THE RULES
In addition to the brief, if you do not follow these rules, you will not be included in the poll.

• Files must be named: CHoW#268_Username 
(Files with any other names such as final.jpg or even chow268final.jpg will not be accepted)
• Finals must be posted in the finals thread BEFORE the deadline
• Final post must include the CHoW number and the artists username at the bottom of the image
• At least 3/4 of the focus character must be visible
• Final images must be accompanied with a basic character sheet in a separate image
Character sheets should at the very least show a sketch of the front and back of the character and a couple of early thumbnails/silhouettes.

Well I might go with a god of green street light. I've been always imagining this little dude being pissed off for something when I get to the crossing and he switches to the red one. Little sod.

Some quick thumbs for my first idea: Graphus! God of Broken Pencil Points!

Leaning towards number two a bit, but was going for a more mischievous look with all of them. 3 has more mechanical pencil going on, but Im thinking about making them made out of graphite, giving almost a little rock monster look.

I'd imagine him lurking around your workspace using is less than spectacular powers to break pencil points, and then eat them.

Pratchett DOES come to mind faster than the god of clogged sinuses can say "atchoo". So, does the Verruca Gnome count as an existing deity since he was mentioned in "the Hogfather"?

Preliminary sketch/setup - God of Battery Drain

Particularly cursed by geeks and techies, this small god came into being shortly after electricity was first stored in Leyden jars. Will re-size the god to fit closer to 2 inches -- somehow missed that.

P.S. - I love Pratchett! My home wireless network is named L-Space :p

Sweet topic, might give it a try but i doubt i will have time to finish it.

Anyway, first thing that came into my mind, quick and poor sketch.
Lesser god of ashes, like a baby version of the ones infesting.. you know bigger fires, temporary gods of ashtrays until they reach adulthood.
They feed on ashes and ashtrays are their playgrounds, like every kid they play with their food, making a mess. Cigarettes will always fall off, ashes everywhere especially on your desk. Then they hide in their black cape-like skin thing that grows on their backs.
I'm a smoker and i'm pretty sure they do really exist. It's the only reasonable explanation for the mess i always find around my ashtray.

i like number 1 and 2. he is a bit cheeky and mean, also really noisy (like crows and ravens) but smart.

Snösa - Godess of Snowballs. She's the one who makes the snow wet enough to be turned into snowballs. And she's also a bit mischievous, so if you find yourself being hit by a snowball but can't find the perpetrator, she's likely the one who did it.

this is my idea for the god of tea sipplestout. i want to make a buddhist immagery in a way but make it somewhat having a western feel to it.

right you said no tooth fairies, if my gods small and has wings its brobably going to read like a fairy isnt it? i want the thing to fly but seing as its a god i supose that it doesnt really adhered to silly laws such as gravity.

also im new to this, hi. If i put the character into an illustration will it sort of be spoiling the idea of this being a chow contest?
