Great work so far! Your values are pretty rock solid and your studies are very nicely done. I like what did on the thor girl, and her metal bra is really well done! awesome work!
@Psychobuddy I'll admit I'm not all that great with going from black and white to color, but I'm trying to learn. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind while I push forward. Thanks man.
@Yemi775 Oh i do, it just gets boring doing them soooo much. I like to try different people. There always something different to learn from each artist.
@Erikly Thanks-hah it's funny. You say my values are good and psychobuddy says they could use work. But it's true, they aren't that great. Theres always room to learn more. Thanks though for your kind words.
Quick sketch of mega frog from ADVENTURE TIME. Came out a bit sloppy, but it was different and fun.

Did sorta a value test with an old old character design I had. Using only the soft brush cause it seemed like a good idea. Eh-

Enviroment and a dino with his mouth over his eyes. I wanted to do something different.

Some line drawings of pterodactyl to study up for a big piece I may do.

A realistic like Ridley from the metroid series! Nintendo, get on an HD remake!
1.5-2 hours.
Some really quick gestures 2-4 minutes each. I should do these every day, hopefully that way they'll start looking decent.
And some female face studies. About 20-30 minutes per face. I tried focusing on form and line.

Nice going Zesiul, you're really building a distinct look.
My DeviantART & my Sketchbook.
@Othrandir you betcha!
@Overtoom I am? Ah I guess I never notice those sorta things.
Kick-Ass movie study, more of a face study (duh) which made me unhappy with how I handled skin.
SO, I wanted to do a material study... or 15!
Funny enough none were skin.... go figure.
The trick about painting in grey scale than colorizing is that it does not take into account the fact that light changes color as it bends around the form and bounces around a space.
I think the reason you are unhappy with you Kick-Ass study is that you do not have bounce light from his shirt casting a blue tint onto his skin in the shadowy areas on the lower half of his face. Also forms have an saturation spike right along the edge of the core shadow. Try putting those things in and I think you will be a lot happier with the result.
For Science- Sketchbook!
@ForScience Thanks for the advice. I was more unhappy with the lines than the color, there was some bounce light, it just didn't read that well. Skins complicated so maybe more studies will help.
I did a quick sketch of the Lich from Adventure time. I'm sick so it's hard to focus. But I'm trying.

You inspire me buddy, great stuff!
I really love how u light ur scenes / concepts. Also good grasp on values and rendering.
Where u can imrpove alot is on ur shapes/forms. I guess the best way to improve on that is just by drawing alot.

I'm trying to get myself in to the gestural and quick anatomy studies.
How would you suggest going about material studies? Do you just find images of, glass, granite, etc. then apply them to a sphere?
@Yemi775 You have no idea how much that means to me.
@lakai Thanks so much for commenting! I love your stuff as well. (I actually did the material studies cause I saw yours were so killer.) And thanks for the advice, I actually did the studies bellow with that in mind!
@Jackomack First off thank you!. I'm sure you'll have fun doing anatomy studies, I always do! Uh well the point of the material study is to just learn how light affects objects differently. So that way when you paint an illustration not everything comes out looking like the same material. It takes a lot of practice as most things. But yeah, the just of it is that you draw a circle and just try to paint it into any material such as rock, apple, metal, water, skin. Anything you're having trouble with really. Hope that helps :]
Some quick Michael Hampton studies! I'm going to do some more stuff later today so keep your eyes peeled.

Sorry I didn't post this last night guy, i was feeling really sick and zombie like. BUT here is about a 3+ hour study. I haven't gone and just rendered out a full photo in awhile so this was very hard. Haha, but hey who doesn't like drawing naked girls right? I do plan on doing some MMA fighters in the future, I found some sweet pictures so it's gonna happen. But for my next update I had something else in mind!

Had a busier day than I though, but here is a quick sketch for Anthony Jones' contest.
Just an idea, I'll be posting a better one tonight/tomorrow.
@Othrandir Haha, I wouldn't say I'm killing it. But I'm trying!
Hah, so i dun goof'd. Didn't get to finish that contest thing in time for anthony jones cause I thought the due date was a bit later for some reason. SO, heres a dragon sketch to start the day.
