GUI/UI Gaming Websites... HOW Do they do it!?

Hi Guys, Just recently I begun to explore web design for gaming websites as this is something that really interests me. I was wondering if you guys can link me to any nice tutorials that can help one understand the process of creating a really nice gui/ui/ux for sites of these genres. I'll take a stab in the dark and guess that the sites I've linked are created by painting, 3d or using the various tools available like bevel and emboss and textures in ps. I would really appreciate anyone's input.

    Thanks in advance.

Here are some of the examples that I would love to know how they were achieved. I'm mainly focusing on the filigree/ornate elements around the navigation etc etc.

Please click the links below. Thankyou!

Photoshop. Pure and simple. Most of what you see is hand painted in photoshop.

Or if you were thinking of going towards 3D modelling there is a good free to download program called Blender. you can find a fair few tutorials on how to use that. 3d modelling is fairly complicated though. also like what Brashen said, most of what you see on those websites would be hand drawn in photoshop, usually with the help of a graphics tablet.
