Hey Lakai, Just browsed through the last couple of pages here. Your photoshop drawings are looking really clean and beneficial, keep it up!
Also, really like that texture ball sheet, it's inspiring me to try one out one as well.

Keep rocking Lakai. You are doing so much awesome!

For a different approach to your gestures maybe consider working from inside out (stressed by Michael Hampton et al). You seem to be quite contour based so maybe give that a try too? This way you can have a really simple armature to work on and build the anatomy on top of that the way you would when working totally from imagination. I guess .. maybe

Fantastic sketchbook you have here Lakai. You seem to have such a balanced way of studying, and of course you're making beautiful concepts as well. I really dig the character concepts.

In relation to those hand and foot studies you are doing: they all have really smooth, clean lines do you do this kind of study after you've understood the forms underneath, or do you directly start doing these and gain understanding as you go?

All the best, I'll be keeping an eye on you!

ceddo It depends on what my focus is. I concentrated more on lineweight with the hands. I propably would do really rough scribbles to understand the forms better. Thats the stuff im rarely showing here. I started the hands with basics shapes tho to also understand the forms better.
Whirly thx whirly, yea my approach on the gestures kinda sucks . I have hamptons book but im just on page 20 or so. I suppose u mean i should start with a stickfigure and then add the forms right?
Cerasela Thx good idea. I wrote it on my list. This list starts getting pretty long :/
SarSengo heres more. I'll try to post daily, k i'm not here in the next 2 days XD...
    Zesiul thanks alot ^^
arghmisfit thx, yea try it at least once!
Izzual haha nice that u could get something out of it

I tried to use a bigger brush and drew smaller with the gestures. I think i did them way to detailed ... I rather learned more about anatomie instead of the pose itself. They look like crap now ... but yea its about improveing .

Not so much thinking in those terms more thinking in terms of
    1. First the Spine (in-out-in)
    2. three major forms (head ribcage pelvis)
    3. construction (turn into 3d forms in space)
    4. Anatomy (add and subtract the 3d forms into anatomy)

The advantage of this is how much you can utilize imagination vs observation with what ever amount is useful to you at the time. With outlines you are only going to be able to memorise a limited amount before having to really be slavish to reference.

Also its just a method of learning the figure there is no need to be this slavish when actually painting awesome shit.

Anyway that's what I think but at the moment I am a still a crappy beginner and significantly worse than you so take all if this with a pinch of salt.

Hey Lakai! Sick paintings and studies . About your gestures... they are anatomically correct, but i think they can be more fluid and exaggerated. Try to use only S and C shapes and focus on body flow. I know it sounds abstract, but try to look how body parts join in kinda wave patterns Keep it up!
