I haven't updated this sketchbook in a while but hopefully I can get hold of a scanner soon so I can put all of my life drawing studies in,
mostly none portraiture stuff as well! But for now a quick hour colour study from Constantine.

dude really great works man, i enjoy the colors you use and how accurate your observation drawing and paintings are.
Sick stuff man! I really love your traditional stuff and I see a lot of progress with your digital work. How long have you been drawing?
Hey man, nice anatomy studies and i really like tht drapery study you did and your portraits too. I am 19 too and i have been drawing since 3-4 months and people like you really helps me to improve steadily.

kingkostas: Thanks for checking out my SB man! you're a big inspiration and I really appreciate your input.
Yemi775: Cheers! I'm glad to here my drawings are accurate, hopefully I can push it into other forms of media.
Kayshay: Thank you, yeah my traditional works I believe are much stronger than my digital but hopefully I'll get there soon enough with more practical and analytical studying,
I started to practice seriously in June 2011, so a year and a halfI haven't practised much anatomy lately so I best get going on that!
Artful_Stool: Much appreciated, I'm 20 now (almost 21) so you have plenty of time to catch up, but I don't think age really matters, just your motivation to get better. I'll check out your work soon as I try to with most people who are generous enough to stop by in here.
Damn it's been a while since I last updated! Not much to show unfortunately, I was occupied with an abundant amount of University work sadly.
But I finally have a break from it over the holidays and I've decided to focus my practice on Life drawing this week, I have figurative life drawings too
from The Louis Smith Portrait School which has been a treat that I need to scan. I also started on a study of Sir Patrick Moore, sad to hear of his passing, such an inspiring TV presenter and Astronomer. The still life's took between 40 minutes and 1 hour 20 minutes and I'm about 2 hours into the Moore study.

Good stuff! In the one sketch of the weird shaped looking piece and the like top bottle, the weird looking shape's shadow is off quite a bit. Other than that keep the work coming! I'd like to see that painting finished as well. Hope you are enjoying the holidays
Kayshay:Thanks, I know the shadow looks very odd but the plane was facing away from the light source, I could maybe take a photo next time I'm back home to show you
Some recent studies, the portrait and shoe are from life.
I made a horrible mistake with the eyes so I removed them, I think facial features is something I need to practice more.
Sphere and gesture study from photo ref (sphere from Gurney's 'Colour and Light')

Great gesture studies, i see you were observing light in the studies keep it up.
Same as Kino here. That portrait master study is coming along great!! Can't wait to see when it's finished.
Yemi775, Cabbage Caterpillar:Cheers guys!
Just a quick update today; still life with digital colouring, I had no idea how difficult colouring from life was in dark lighting.
Quick John Aiken and Bridgman studies.

i love the way your works always have constructions its as though you are thinking on a 3D point of view. Good Job Buddy.
Hey Ben, just wondering - is John Aiken this guy? http://ava.hkbu.edu.hk/people/prof-john-aiken/
Really like your first drawing/painting in post 101. It's looks super 3D and it's got a mesmerizing shape![]()

A little still life I'm working on, about an hour into it and I'm still deciding which paint medium to use!

90 minute Skull from imagination, after viewing some reference photos I realised some of the anatomy is wrong, but I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.
