    Dizzy's Doodles!

Oh my goodness, hi! I am both excited and terrified to be -finally- dipping my toes in this giant pool of artistic amazingness.

I'm a 20(one!) year old college student, but someday I long to work in either the animation or illustration fields. I'm ready to draw my brains out and learn anything and everything I can!

And of course, any critiques are greatly appreciated. I could really use a good kick in the art stuff : )

    ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼
UPDATE: I went away then came back! My focus now is to eat, breathe, and attend school for animation. I still have lots to learn, so here we go~
    Thanks for stopping by. ^^

Post more I shall~ And thanks for the encouragement, my butterflies are happy.

here's some more stuff from my sketchbooks. Including some gesture practice, figure studies, a hint at Loomis, and some of what I do best, mindless doodles~

sorry if the quality is low, I need a scanner :/

hi again ^^ here's a few digital WIPS I need to finish. I have an annoying habit of starting something, all passionate thinking "yeah, LETS DO THIS" then I'll eventually lose interest and start something else. :/ I need to work on this, and so Ive chosen three (out of many) from the past few months to actually finish. If I wanna do this for a living I have to teach myself discipline, right?

this WAS a doodle for a friends birthday...which was a month ago. so now its just a doodle for friend

kind of old, but I still want to finish it. But I have yet to give him a neck that doesnt look...off.

out of all three this one is my favorite, and Ive really worked quite a bit on it despite what it seems. I plan to give it and under water feel, once I figure out the best way to do so. I REALLY want to finish this one

hopefully putting the unfinished versions here will help me stay motivated to add the finished products! I really need/want to break this all-sketch-no-finish rut of mine.

Aah! nice animation style! while I love your stylization, I think your art could gain a lot more life from some realism studies. for example, some of the figures in the last update seem stiff / off balance. hope I helped and thanks for the comment on my sb ^_^

oh my goodness its been ages! I discovered back in october that my laptop does not like water. o_O And I just now finally bought a brand new shiny desktop! Sadly with my laptop I lost all my pretty art stuffs so I'll have to start anew. But here's some pages from my sketchbook just to update on what ive been doing for the past two, technology-less months.

Lovely work! You have a very natural fluidity in your pictures that looks very appealing. I absolutely adore the orange haired girl in your recent post, although her limbs are looking a little floppular.

I really like how flowy your style is! Really nice sketches

Maybe attempt some higher contrast in your painterly style? I think it'd add readability C:

    Thank you kindly, Izene!

I'm back again! My "amazing" new computer showed its true colors and bonked out on me, after a very short 15 day return limit. I really have terrible luck with computers....:c But I managed to persuade store credit and waited around to find my true computing love. (or so I hope)
Ive had this one for a week now, and it still hasn't collapsed into a buzzing heap, so here's hoping!

I only have two things to show tonight, hoping to scan some sketches in soon the first is a doodle I whipped up for my 4 year anniversary with my boyfriend in January (the last known survivor of evil dead gateway). And the second is a portrait study I did just this week.

I really like the natalie portman rendering, it's an awesome study. however you could adjust a teeny bit of her eyes. make them a bit smaller or a part of each other. also her lips are though. i don't know what the part between lips and nose is, but you've created too much of value contrast in that area. also add more glow effect to the lips perhaps? I mean you're obviously above my skills but just had to mention these couple things oh and i realized it was natalie before i saw the thumbnail so gg!

Hi Hi, Joona : ) thanks for your feedback! The eyes and lips are actually what I struggled most on, oddly enough. I see what you mean about the size and alignment of her peepers, and I will certainly have to try some value studies, as I was almost clueless on how to interpret her unique nose/lip...place. x3

hoo boy, busy busy week(s). I'm planning a trip with my boyfriend to his native England (Leeds, to be exact) and ohgolywow I am EXCITED! Traveling the world is one of my oldest dreams and having left Texas only once before, to say that Im "buzzing with joy" is an understatement. The plans just got confirmed, so I just had to share ^^
    Anyway, onwards to art stuff~

Here's some studies starring Lola Bunny, being LolaBunny.

I really need buckle down on anatomy and maybe even draw some men sometime...I could also use some good color studies, but perhaps I should get a better footing in value before tackling the next step? Onwards!

Thanks a lot for passing by my Sb greatly appreciated.
Here's a usefull link for your further anatomy studies, it's very interesting to understand how to build a human body and can't be guessed out of the blue:
