Looks like a good start to me. One thing that I am trying to get over is using too many soft brushes. My hand has been slapped a few times recently, so I am trying to use more hard edge brushes and that would be my main recommendation for you at this point. Other than that, just keep doing what you're doing and study anatomy, light, value, color, etc.... ! Sketch sketch sketch!

Good start! Though I'd recommend stepping up the study>personal work ratio - more still lifes, photo studies, figure stuff etc

@heartcore Thanks buddy! Actually I do use a lot of hard edged brushes just tend to smooth my brushwork for some reason

@AlexTooth Thanks for stopping by =) Yes do agree completely! I do need a lot of anatomy studying even though that's all I do all the time. Still suck, unfortunately

Ah, my bad... that crit wasn't very helpful then. You don't suck. Don't say that to yourself.

Yey! SO the studying ha started. That is good, it will help you out a lot. And you'll end up doing personal stuff before you know it!
The figures seem a bit stiff, try sketching lighter and out of the lines more. Look for big shapes that fit in the figure and go from there. Try doing 30-60-90 sec posemaniacs to help you out with flow, proportions, perspective etc. Right now you need to go into the lines more. That is what i feel when looking at that female study in your last post. It is to stiff, and the head has one direction(and to small) the neck and torso another, legs another.
Also do some studies after people like loomis, bridgman bammes hogarth, look for what works best for you and study study study.

And leave the 'unfortunately' talk for another time, it'll eventually work out.
All it takes is practice till you can't practice no more, and then don't stop.

ps. add your sketchbook in your signature, people will find it more easy

Hey all! It's been a while since I've posted stuff. Been busy with my final project at university. I am finally done with it now and have time to work more on my drawings. So, I've decided to improve my portfolio and do as many paintings as i can before the end of the year, so I can update my portfolio with them and start applying for jobs. Gonna post everything here. Enjoy! I will appreciate if u guys will tell me what needs to be fixed as well!

Some more ZBrush... I am actually very happy with this piece as this is the most realistic looking face texture I have ever done. Sculpting and texturing both done entirely in ZBrush 4R2. From the scratch, however a few references were taken. Enjoy!
