wow. Very cool, the specks you have about the edges of the piece really add to the power behind the two figures.
coming soon "Hercules VS Hidra"........
Smoking.
. This might not matter . but it ought be said . The 'cule' used a club. But history is dead.
Looks great and rendering is good. Only one complain - I wish I could see the face of hercules in a more profile angle, not exactly profile though. Currently to me its looking as if he is sneaking something from the side of the lion. This could be me only who might have this notion. Great work!
That is pretty sweet! I love the energy in it!

Hi, great work! I agree with bhaskarrac for the head point, but the piece is very good.
YEAH!
That is frickin' amazing.
Such power. Such energy.
Dynamic composition and I love color palette you went with for the subject matter.
The sword is held at a strange angle, but it works if he stabs the lion rather than slice away at him.
If you are doing all of the labors, this will be one awesome series of paintings!
I will keeping tabs for sure!
AWESOME!
The piece is fantastic, but I'm with Stylor. The sword is sideways.
Nice work![]()

I think the lions front paws are kinda awkward. otherwise the painting is kewl as ice.
They feel separate, like there's something missing that makes them feel not in the same scene. Can't put my finger on it.
Maybe it's the fact that the lion looks more detailed to realistic and Herc doesn't, maybe?
USEFUL STUFF!
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=192127"Everything must serve the idea. The means used to convey the idea should be the simplest and clear. Just what is required. No extra images. To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."-John Huston, Director
I would think an attacking lion would have his claws out and reaching for his target. Seems like the lion's eyes would also be open at least a crack to see what he's attacking. Otherwise, great job! Like everyone else said, very dynamic energy. Nearly monochromatic color scheme turned out well, too.
— SKETCHBOOK —— FINISHED WORK —
I like the texture and energy, thanks for posting. I agree though, the elements have different styles and approaches and it looks a little bit like a collage instead of a painting, like you used reference for the chest from a realistic painting while using a blizzard type ref for the armor and face. The overall effect is still nice.
The lighting on the sword blade ought to be thrown in shadow from this angle, but that's a small thing.
