Taking another class! The first 2 days we did measuring and drawing and the last 6 classes are sculpting; this is the 1st day of sculpting and 3 day of the class and the 2nd day sculpting, and the 4th day of the class. This is from a live model.

Its all water based clay, but its two different batches so the color is a little bit different. (ran out of clay) In the end it will be casted.

I haven't been on in ages, just been too busy but I finally came on to see what I have missed and wow that Torso is just beautiful! I wish I had room to do some larger pieces here. Your bust is coming along well too, looking good!
I really miss working in a water based clay. I did some really large pieces for a company in scottsdale in around 2005 or so and had really never worked in waterbased clay but thats what I used for those pieces and I just loved it, never had so much fun and I had a whole warehouse to work in so no space problems then. I sure miss it. isn't it fun!

    Week 8

Spending all day 7am – 10:30 pm Sunday to finishing this up (work on; eyes, eyelashes, hair, neck, shoulders and smoothing and final touches) than I start casting it!
I started to cast the torso as well!

solticeart: Thanks! Its very fun and I'm learning a lot as well. You should set a date, sit down and do one again, haha! may be a new year's resolution or something.

I love all of those WIP pictures. It´s funny that when you look at the torso from beginning to 99% complete it almost seems like the model went on a diet

    freeing it

chiseling away, with a pick and a hammer for 4 hours my arm and hands were a little sore.
just need to clean it up, and sand it down then fix the dings.
P.S. you can see the 2 of the tools in the top pic
