Well greetings.
I'm a 22 year old girl from Iceland. This year I am really going to take time to improve my art since I am trying to get into an Icelandic art school next autumn.

So please if you drop by here, take a little time to tell me what I should look into, what I should focus on improving.

Also if you know about some great tutorials or great tips about art and also portfolio making, please throw them my way

Some great work here so far I actually like how you render fabrics and the coloring's good in most of these (I especially like the fire in the first image).

Only suggestion is to maybe practice some head/face studies from life and/or photographs, since almost all of these characters have the same face. Try altering the shape of the eyes, shifting the placement of the cheekbones, adjusting the roundness/squareness of the chin, etc. Looking forward to more stuff here soon!

Hiyyaaa! and welcome to CA...nice start! I like that you have used very saturated colors in your paintings...it's a sign of bravery too often people (including me) start with desaturated colors and the whole painting looks kinda flat...first master the form with saturared color and then slide into the desaturated shadow world ^^ anyhow i like your characters and you composition skill are pretty nice just keep on practicing...if you wanna check out anatomy masters then Glenn Vilppu and Michael Hampton and maybe George Bridgman looking forward to see some more.

I agree, the coloring and clothes are really nice. I would work on anatomy and faces. As one user mentioned before the faces look sort of similar to one another. Also some of the bodies and poses look a bit stiff/odd. So yeah, just get you a good anatomy book and go to town. Don't forget to keep cranking out works like those you did above though, they're cool.

Thank you guys I have heard before that my faces are similar so that is defentetly something I am going to work on! I got a great book as a gift with photographs of different people, young and old and I'm planning to draw from that book somewhat to practise drawing faces.

l am also signed up for model drawing class this semester ^_^ and can't wait to go.

Fun stuff so far- your fabric has a great sense of weight and movement in it.
My only suggestion would be to expand your subject matter. So far you've got about 95% attractive women. Don't forget all the other kinds of people

Here is one work in progress, I'm trying to challange myself to use more than one person and try to have some kind of a storyline.

One new picture of a redhead in the snow and one rather old that I wanted to share for fun. It's a picture with all the Icelandic "Jule lads" and a clueless girl.

I've started getting really interested in the old celtic and english stories and the old nature relegion. Also because I rewatched The Mist of Avalon, which I saw the first time as a child. And also because I just watched the animation The Book of Kells for the first time, a really great artwork.
I'm really interested in the celts at the moment and am kind of sad that we don't learn more about them up here in the north. The funny thing is that the popular belief that we icelanders all come from norweigian vikings, new research have shown that about 40% of us come in fact from the british islands, and mostly the celts.

Well to get to the point, this is why I have been working on some nature druidish woman and here is one of my sketches.

Redid my red riding hood in my more "natural" style. I guess I'm more comfortable with line based artwork instead of a more painting style.
