Hey it´s nice to know more people that like algen sketch book. You are on the right track just dont´t give up or something like that, One thing I want to tell you (and that i learn from algen) is that blend is not so important, be fast, do more, observe more, blend less. Even just a few strokes can make a beutiful piece. Well but I´m just a beginner, don´t take me too seriusly, this is just my try to help.
Ah and one more thing, that armored guy you saw in my sketch book is not from algen, is from Alex, algen did a paint over of this http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1234132847
And here is the artist, really cool his gallery http://alexpascenko.deviantart.com/

hey there, i'm from germany, too and i know sketchbooks like those of madith, alge and janaschi so i clearly understand what it means to be discouraged about your own art.
but anyway, looking through your sb i notice your dedication to get better and it works. you gett better with each post and especially your painting and anatomy skills are improving.
keep drawing and exploring your skills![]()

really nice evolution! keep it up! and your enviorments especially the last one are becomming solid!
Noomwolf: Thanks for your hint with the blending. I really thought about it while drawing, especially the figures. sometimes its hard to resist
I'll be doing another anatomy-day today.
And yes, you're right, its from Alex Pascenko. I should have known better xD
This art also inspires me a lot.
braineater: thank you for your kind words!
I try not to regard those sketchbooks so much anymore.
Since I'm selftaught and at least maidith visited an art school in florence. I will never stop the drawing. =)
johnny24: thank you!
I learned a lot about environments while looking at Feng Zhu's Tutorials: http://www.youtube.com/user/FZDSCHOOL
stuffs from the weekend
This is a Random Word Doodle!
And something from the last weeks!

Hello people of ca!

Wow your anatomy has really picked up a lot- it's giving me a nudge to do some studies myself later :p
I think your traditional work is stronger than your digital; especially figures and heads. I find that it is more helpful to study things like form and value with the pencil as well- as it is an easier medium, you can start focusing on stuff like shadows and how form is defined.
Are you referencing your anatomy studies? What sources do you use? They look really neat, keep at it!
Lordlouis; wow thank you so much!
I'm doing my best....
I have no idea why I'm weaker in digital but it's true. Maybe because a mechanical pencil is easier to handle then all those brushes.^^
I used Loomis to learn about how a human is built. Also using some of his figures as refs. And I looked at this gallery: http://felixdeon.deviantart.com/gallery/
this guy has many cool refs.
Here you can download the Loomis books, highly recommended: http://www.alexhays.com/loomis/
Ok guys so this doesn't look like much but I'm just slow! :c
y hi there
school started so less time to draw - but no excuses!!
will keep studying every day.
i study game art + animation btw.
One-picture upload today, i'm slowly when colouring![]()
Don't feel bad about your anatomy. It's a hard subject, and needs tons and tons of practice, but will become easier with time (after much frustration and banging one's head agains brick walls, I guess).
I like the environments in #94, you caught the atmosphere, temperature, feeling of those places very well!
#98 Careful with the head sizes - the girl is only about 6 heads tall! The gun is pretty cool thoughAs is the monster head concept below!
#102 The anatomy is coming along, as is line quality! Keep it up! The lantern girl is cuteBut again, carful with the head size!
Hope you enjoy your studies, I envy you![]()
more more
your anatomy is improving a lot and i like the way you are using colourful light in your drawings (like in here) by the way, it's great that you found loomis![]()
