    Thanks Kevin.

A bit of a big update. Had a life drawing session at work (coffee place) which was followed by some more Loomis figure drawing.

And, today, I drew some mountains - about 45 minutes long. I'm not very happy with the way the water turned out but I like the sky and mountains.

An old drawing I wanted to show and forgot

I absolutely love painting with oils. Everything just feels much better with brushes and paint rather than digital painting. I just enjoy the process so much that I don't care if I fail when it comes to traditional media.

I started this painting today using a 400gr A3 paper for oils.

I'm trying to do some non-referenced drawings. This is completely from my head. I drew a lot but this was the only thing I kind of liked

Hey Neave, really nice updates as of recently. Upwards and onwards!
#125 looks unfinished, any intentions of pushing it further on?

Thanks Kerah. Yes, of course I will continue the oil painting. I only worked on it for like an hour or so.

Finished Ms. Orangelady and I'm quite happy with it

Not bad for an hour of work on that oil painting !
Orangelady looks really great, especially love her hair, although it could be a little more "flowing". One more silly thing, keep an eye on those nostrils - while the nose as a whole appears normal the nostril in comparison looks rather miniature.

Thanks for the tips and kinds words Kerah.

This is my finished oil screencap study of Game of Thrones. I painted it on a canvas I found by the garbage which had a painting on it already hence there is a strange, but attractive (if you ask me) under texture.

I didn't work today so I managed to get a lot done but in a very relaxed matter.

Firstly, I continued working on my oil painting which didn't go as well as I wanted it to but I enjoyed the process.

Secondly, I started studying this book called Force: Dynamic life drawing for animators by Michael D. Mattesi and it's really great so far. I also copied some of him sketches and also did a lot of my own gestures from photos. Honestly, I'm very pleased with my progress so far and the book is a lot of fun to read.

Your colours are definitely getting better! Ms Orangelady is quite nice. Her hair has a very stringly look, though... as counterintuitive as it sounds, using bigger brushes for hair until you get to the smallest details is going to get you a better result. Think of the hair as a helmet of sorts; think of the way the light hits the whole before you think of the strands. I don't know your ref so I'm just guessing, but here's a really quick paintover:

Thanks for the paint over Rev I understand what you're getting at and I'll try and improve on this for my next painting.

Sadly, it won't be today because today is just one of those days where nothing goes right.
I did some CTRL Paint assignments and started a new screencap (again from Martian Child).
I got really frustrated so I stopped for now. Maybe I'll continue tomorrow.

You're doing great man. Might I suggest loosening up your lines a bit? It looks too strict in some pictures, will probably give it a more organic feel! The latest portrait of the girl is coming along really nice!

I've never been great with water colours so I thought I'd challenge myself. I'm happy with some of the results but the process was quite difficult. Still, it's nice to mix it up with a different medium.

    Also, some more Hogarth studies.

I must say that it is so much more fun to do a master-study rather than painting some random photograph which you fancy. Also, I'm hoping, that I learnt much more.

CLICK HERE for the original painting. I would love to get some feedback from this piece.

I have just recieved the best perspective instruction ever. I couldn't of even imagined something as great as this.

I went to CTRLPaint and purchased the two latest additions to the store: Perspective Sketching 1: The Basics & Perspective Sketching 2: Form and Design

Completing the first basic perspective instructions I attempted to paint something on my own, using a perspective grid which I created myself and it went amazingly well. I used no reference, kept everything in grayscale, loose and sketchy.

I'm going to continue studying the next chapter of the perspective sketching and I'll be sending Matt Kohr a huge thank you email for his greatness. I mean I studied other books before but never have I seen something so practical. I can really use everything he taught me, and use it well.

I highly recommend everyone visits his website and CTRLpaint.com. He creates many many helpful videos and is really doing something great for everyone to enjoy.
