45 minute painting. Trying to focus on the general idea of the piece rather then getting sucked into details.

Nice updates! I like that big horn study, it's coming along nicely.
This latest one is cool to, did you make it from head or are you using any reference?
Keep it up![]()
Noukah - Thanks for the kind words. The latest one is from reference. I still don't feel confident enough to draw without reference and I don't even know how to push the reference to what I want. It's quite upsetting.
Kerah - I can't believe there really is someone else from Israel on these most amazing forums. Nice to meet you, thank you for looking at my stuff. About Tiltan, I wouldn't want to create a huge wall of text over here, so send me a private message with your e-mail if you're interested and I'll get in touch with you.
A quick game of thrones screencap and some random anatomy & figure drawing stuff.
God I wish there was a quick way to upload multiple files on these forums

A study - about 30 minutes. I really liked it until I noticed that her body weight isn't right as she's leaning a bit backwards.

Thanks Maxx_Biff.
My hand hurts but I'm really happy with the results so far.
I've finally found the tools I need to draw well in PS. Here is the link: http://imaginismstudios.blogspot.co....rasers-to.html
I highly recommend trying out those tools - they're free to download and really allow you to paint without stopping to find the right brush or something.

I went to a concert of my aunt's choir and it was incredible. I did some sketching, but, sadly, most of the people were with their backs toward me. And, yet, it was quite enjoyable. By the way, be wary of the noise an HB pencil makes - 6B is probably better for missions that require such stealth and silence![]()

I really enjoyed creating this and studying the face muscles. They are quite beautiful![]()

The Ned one is looking pretty good, your stuff is starting to get more of a solid look to it. The eyes are quite nice! The face is still kind of flat, though, and I don't know how much of the colour change from ref was intentional, but you're missing out on a lot of what's there. You're also getting some really muddy skintones. Be careful to make sure your lights are light enough, and your darks aren't muddied by black and dark brown.
Oh, and I quite like those sheep. =)
I'm not sure why people dive straight into the extremely complex anatomical structures, they are really hard to memorize - especially the terminology of the bones and such and especially if you don't hang around that subject for long.
I'd suggest working more on the generalized view which is the figure and getting the proportions right and getting them right from every possible viewing angle. Anatomy is more like the icing on the cake for me, maybe I'm completely wrong but that's what I think.
Anyway, skype's usually open from 5pm to god knows when I'm going to hit the sack
Cheers mate!
I think you need to keep some cleaner lines. At the moment it's all looking a bit blured and mucky. You can always soften edges later but it's pretty tough to clean up a soft edge.
Thanks Rev I did try to stay close to the reference but I didn't copy the colours from the picture. I guess it will take me a while to get good at the whole colour accuracy thing.
Kerah - I'll do a bit more Loomis figure drawing stuff.
GEB - I will try to work on that. Thanks.
I also used pens a bit here to try and stay with smooth lines instead of going over them everytime with a pencil and I also did some more figure drawing as requested by Kerah![]()

Hello MeteorCat,
good to see you working on anatomy and digital stuff =) I would always recommend to take your time for the studies. I like Ned and the bighorn sheeps. Try to make mixture in your pictures oh shapes with hard edges and soft edges. Don't rely to much on texture brushes. Do the basic stuff with simple round brushes. TExtures are just the nice thing at the end, but not so good to begin with. It may hard for some time, but I'm sure you can master it. Keep it up!

Thanks for the tip Valyavande. I'll try to stick to the more basic brushes next time.
