    Bryan Crow's Sketchbook (Sergeant)

These are my most recent studies since joining the Crimson Daggers on 8-10-11. I have only been painting since about May 2011. I took art classes in Highschool and did some sketching and that's about it. I still have much much much more to learn!

Verrrrry cool. Perspective is definitely my weakness. :/ Luckily, one of this semester's classes is just that!

    Beware of the Butterfly

Another life study. I really liked the colors and their level of saturation along with the contrast of the black background.

Studies are looking good man, i think you've gotta also focus on fundementals and anatomy to help out your imaginative work. The screen caps are looking really good just remember to break it down one step at a time, maybe you could put up a step by step process so that we can see how to help you. keep it up

    Warrior

An original work in progress. I used a picture of myself posing for reference and it looks a little too much like me. Going to have to work on that for next time.

    Warrior

An original concept/study. I used my self as reference for the expression. Going to have to work harder at anatomy so I can change features more easily.

    Freddy Krueger

Heeeeere's Freddy. I love October and horror flicks and thought, "What better way to start off October than start some horror character paintings?" This is all original except the character himself. I had a ton of fun doing it and plan on painting Michael Myers and Jason as well. We will see. The actual size is around 7200X5500 pixels.

I'd love to know what you think; good or bad, I can handle it!

Lol, I'm one of the least patient persons I know! I still have to work on that much more. I feel like I'm always rushing to the finish and calling it finished before it really is.

    Halloween Rob Zombie style

The last one is a landscape and the first two are Michael Meyers studies. I was thinking of painting a Michael Meyers but I dunno now.

    Scarecrow

Well it's the end of October and I had a great time making some Halloween themed paintings. Too bad it has to come to an end but there are more cool holidays coming up I guess. I studied straw, hay, sackcloth, and lighting for this one.

    For the kids

Here's a painting a did for my son. He loves the show so I made an 11X17 print to hang up in his room. I used a ton of mask layers for this!

    Ninja

Here's my latest original study. Studied cloth, eyes, metal, and hands.

I didn't work real hard on this one. There was just something I didn't like about it halfway through and petered out. Still good practice though.

    The Sock Thief

Newest study/original work. I just had this idea for a fun little tribal monster so I sketched him out and he changed a bit from the original concept but I still like him. Can't you just imagine this guy being the cause for all you missing socks?

    wip and study

Turtle study/original and a still life quickly done for a warm up. Not that strawberries relate to turtles but I think they like to eat them. Work work work, back to work!

    Plyers

A study I did on live stream today. I don't have any ideas for an original study at the moment so I went and reproduced something. It was still fun even though I don't really like doing reproductions right now.
