chromaticodex-thankyou. yep your right about the colours. the pic had to have a springtime look to it so i used pinks in the trees, the original colours felt a little autumnal.

lav- hi matey, i like experimenting with colour, i never really know what i'm doing from the off it kinda develops through trial and error. to be honest that could be said of all aspects of my artwork!

steeliebob- hey mate, thanks for dropping in and posting.

knut- thanks matey, i like drawing buildings, especially roofs! i probably seem more patient than i actually am, i draw fast and frantic, almost always listen to music when i'm doodlin which helps calm things down.

lionheartgfx- ha! thanks lionheart, i won't be stopping any time soon, i'm pretty hooked!

justinbeckett- thanks for checkin out my sb.

crimson13- thanks for dropping by crimson, glad my doodles made ya smile, it's great that you got some inspiration from them! that's made me smile!

    Nice updates.

I think you could benefit a lot in your colouring by using fewer round or linear gradients and instead imply those gradients with brush strokes.

    http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/i/20...ta-d31k7v0.jpg

Possibly a bit like this, the colours in the clouds and the sheens on the tree bark are quite hard and confident; your lines have similar attributes and I think when you bring digital colour into your works as is, the really digitally even gradients flatten your image somewhat.

If you *do* use harder lined shading, try to push your lights and darks more to give it more depth. Just a thought to experiment with.

blighted art- thanks for the tip man! i don't think implying gradients with brush marks would work for me i like lines and hard edges too much so pushing the contrast between light and dark lines is the way to go. cheers dude.

    imaginary friend- thanks alot matey.

apologies if there are any repeats in this little bunch of cartoons, i don't wana go through them all n check. don't think that i've posted any of this stuff before but there may be one or two.

Love your style and your comic strips some made me laugh some im only getting now
as i write this comment for you, i like BlightedArt's comment and i would actually say
using heavier line weights for depth is a very cool trick so you might not even have to use
gradients for form, i mean a great example is the Astrix n Obelisk comics, its all flat colors
depth is shown using fat or thin lines.
