It's always so fun to stroll through your sketchbook. I love that beastie crashing through the building - it's so intense.
Sometimes you've just got to scan it many piecesbit restricted with my piddley scanner tho- I'd love to see what you could do with a huge piece of paper.
I've seen Lorenzo working on some huge pieces. (I think I've compared you guys before.)
It's a bit mind boggling

Looking at your sketch books brings back fond memories of children books or where's waldo illustrations. A whimsical style that brightens my day.
Make a sketchbook happy, feed it a tip to improve!

hi pigeonkill. bless ya, thanks for your comment. the things i draw haven't changed much since i was a kiddie, still influenced by the same artists and still love drawing the same stuff. i loved the wally books when i was little, still do!
whaaaaa so nice and cartoony!Love your stuff man makes me smile while watching it
hi cameli, thanks dewd. cartoonery is what i'm all about now, i've experimented with other types of doodlin in the past but nothin else really works for me.
todays doodle dump:
What media do you typically use? I’m assuming watercolors for the paintings (that is if I didn’t miss you saying that earlier) but some of it I would swear is marker (copic or prismacolor maybe?).
Also you do your sketches in color pencil?
Sorry if the questions seem a bit obvious but I once assumed someone was using water colors but turned out he was using white acrylic with drops colored ink to add color to the acrylic. I only saw scans of his work but it had me totally fooled.
Hi matey
Firstly ............ Blimey!! your fan club has grown somewhat hasn't it mate! and rightly so as well I would say. I am with velocity on the laugh out loud too the combing my brothers hair was so left field it was nearly out of the park ha ha ha ha simply great mate well done.
secondly you seem to be trying out some new slants and style which is good too mate, thanks for posting this stuff it really does cheer me up no end, well worth the visit.
all the very best and thanks again for the SB comments and for posting your stuff.
A great kind hearted lumbering bullock

dhlarson- hey mate. i do use watercolours and markers, i also use acrylics and coloured inks. basically if i need a bright flat red i grab one, if i want a pale desaturated red i whip out the watercolours. not a very sophisticated technique i know but i personally can't get the versatility i want from a single medium. i end up with a right mess sometimes but that's where photoshop comes in!
i do use pencil crayons while drawing too, it helps me notice interesting shapes in the scribbles i start off with. sorry if that explanation's a bit crap, i'll try and do a photo sequence for a piece of artwork at some point. thanks for dropping by my sb.
lightship- hey buddykins! how ya doin? ye i'm experimenting with a few bits at the mo. doesn't always work but i usually come out the end with something useful, even if it is a little thing. thanks for all the encouragement matey. Always nice to hear from ya.![]()
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.... this SB is a breath of fresh air!
So bold, colorful, and expressive, I love it!
This last post #181: There are some stuff I like better about the first version. The second more finished one has less of a focal point that the others. That pink in the background is too contrasty/competing with the orange. I like the color relationship but I think the less saturated greens in the first one's bg competes less with the foreground.
Great energy in your drawings! Can't wait to see more.
Great updates, you dare a lot with colours and it makes your work really come to life, great job![]()
amazing sketchbook, really loving your illustration style! gonna have to take another look. =D
