    Thrown' paint and such!

Hey new to fine arts forum. I do painting and signs, often together.
    Comments welcomed.
This is a detail from a sign I did. The horse was paint on vinyl, then applied to sign. Done in acrylics.

    some small and big stuff

This was done at a letterhead meet in Evansville, Ind. One of the sign guys liked weird stuff, so I closed my eyes and saw this. Not sure of size about 16"x 24" Done with One shot lettering enamels.

Now this was bigger 14'x48' billboard. I spend five days on this which was a lot for me back then, but I really got into the textures, so many round shapes with different textures. Artwork was supplied by Jerry's so I just had to render it. Done with bullentin enamels

Your nudes have a nice sort of dynamic energy. The acrylics are well done but there could be a bit more variation in the colours. They have a bit of that literal "done from photos" look about them.

    Looks good, though. Keep posting!

That last mural must have been a lot of hard work. What kind of place was it hung in?

The picture of your daughter is delightful except for the hands. Please practice and repaint them to make it perfect.

    Dracula's dimensions

vineris-Well the acrylic mural was requested to be photographic in execution. I sanded ,primed, painted, UV coated ,then shot a clear coat in fourteen days, yes the skin colors could use more color, I just ran out of time to introduce more color. I see that as an area to explore more.
Black Spot- Thanks this is an old painting, the hands are weak and were in less than great gesture. I made the same observation when I did it and used it as a lesson.

Now for a new drawing my Daughter is in college now and one of her classes is vampire literature, she read Bram Stroker's 'Dracula'. She could write a paper or do an art piece we brainstormed some ideas, I took it a little further along in this drawing. Hope you enjoy it.

    Something smells fishy here!

    Something smells fishy here!
Here is a project done a while back for a baby's room. I started with a sketch that shows the 4 walls flatten out.

    Name: underwater layout.jpg
Views: 984
Size: 49.6 KB

They decided for financial reasons to do just one wall. I free handed a layout on to the wall because the room was not deep enough to project it up. I was nervous about that , but it went well. I can not get back far enough to photograph the whole thing so here are some shot to let you see it. This was painted with house paint acrylics which I find cover better and cost less than artist tube paints.

I wanted to keep a watercolor feel to this. They have moved and now want me to redo the mural on something they can take with them in the future. Thanks for any C&C.

From the time I received the panels to hanging it on the wall was 15 days, very, very long days. It would have been nice to have more paint time to finish it more and evaluate the different parts to the whole, but you do what you can. I have some in progress shot I can post here if anyone is interested.

    Mark making etc.

I have been visiting the fine arts section-book realistic drawing etc. There is a lot of talk about anatomy realism via just drawing what you see and one that uses construction and anatomy, I think both are needed. I also think all the visual formal elements need to be learned or at least addressed. To that end I made up a pose and sketched it with changes in mark making, I also played with the angle of the head on the neck. There is a little weight change also. I think you can see how just these limited changes can effect the sketch meaning for a similar pose. What do you think?
